Like all famous movie heroes, this savior of mankind took possession of the minds of children for whom the blockbuster was shot. He is dressed in a special suit that protects the main antagonist, the international terrorist and the villain Mandarin from the damaging factors. The main element of the vestment is the mask. Iron man in general and his head in particular are securely hidden behind heavy-duty armor.
Needless to say, the owner of a fancy dress that creates the image of a beloved movie hero will always be the center of attention at every children's party or carnival. And the greater the similarity, the better.
The scheme of the mask of the iron man, that is, its scan, is quite accessible for manufacture, but in order for it to turn out to be quite rigid and give the impression of metal, one paper, even if very dense, will not be enough. Impregnation, preferably polyester resin, is required for the manufacture. Epoxy is better not to use, it is harmful to health. You will also need paint, polyvinyl acetate glue (PVA) and some tools (scissors, tweezers, awls, stationery knives).
Having cut out the scan, first of all, you should check its size, some manufacturers of this printed product are guided, making their product, by an adult. It is easy to figure out in which places the mask should be reduced if necessary. Iron man, at least in our country, is a childish character so far.
The lower jaw is either performed separately or canceled, this is at the request of the manufacturer. From the inside, the glued three-dimensional reamer is coated with resin in two or three layers to give hardness. After treatment, it is necessary to allow the solvent to weather, preferably within a few days, to eliminate an unpleasant chemical odor.
The mask of an iron man made of cardboard is initially more rigid, but less realistic, since when using this material it is difficult to achieve roundness of the forms characteristic of the superhero vestment. However, this method also has advantages. Labor and time are significantly reduced, and unpleasant fumes are eliminated. When working with cardboard, in addition to PVA glue, a stapler and stationery clips are required.
Now about what color the mask should be. Iron man, of course, iron, but the shades of metal coating are quite complex. The front is golden bronze and the back is red. You can do with ordinary gouache or acrylic, but a mask covered with car enamel will look really impressive. Spray cans are available and are relatively inexpensive. In addition, in this case, you can use the color “metallic” and to avoid warpage of the cardboard, caused by the presence of moisture in gouache or acrylic paint. Keep in mind the need to perform work either in the open air or in a well-ventilated area. The enamel solvent evaporates quickly, it is important not to breathe it during painting.
