A chainsaw is an indispensable tool in the preparation of firewood, logging and simply in the processing of garden lands. Its powerful two-stroke engine is able to run smoothly in all weather and temperature conditions. However, so that the chainsaw does not die out at the most unexpected moment, you need to regularly adjust the carburetor. Not only the convenience of working with the tool during the sawing process depends on the correctness of the performance of these works, but also the fuel economy as a whole. How to adjust the carburetor of the chainsaw - further in our article.
What do we have to do?
The whole process of tuning this mechanism is to regulate the position of the jets. Often, modern chainsaws have 3 screws. Among them there is a bolt of a jet of low revolutions, high revolutions and a device for adjusting the idle speed of the saw.
It is worth noting that the first two screws adjust the correct ratio of the combustible mixture to air, which is determined by the opening of the throttle. If you need a lean mixture, tighten the bolt clockwise. Accordingly, if you want an enriched mixture to enter the combustion chamber, turn the device counterclockwise.
The third screw is used to adjust the idle speed of the chainsaw engine. If you turn it clockwise, the number of revolutions of the motor will increase, while unscrewing the bolt, the revolutions decrease.
Do I need to make adjustments immediately after purchasing the instrument?
It should be noted that the carburetor adjustment of the chainsaw (βCalm 660β including) should not be carried out until the engine has run-in. Experts recommend maintaining the factory values ββof all three screws until the tool runs for at least 5-6 hours. As a rule, the manufacturer adjusts the carburetor to supply a more enriched mixture, which is very important for cold start saws. After this mechanism has worked for several hours, you can safely configure the flow of the combustible mixture yourself.
Must remember
When adjusting the carburetor of the chainsaw, pay attention to the fact that the correct setting of the jet screw will also affect engine power. Accordingly, the chain rotation speed will also increase. This may not be the best way to reflect on the operation of the saw. However, the enriched mixture is a good envy of the motor in the winter. Therefore, it is best to set the screw to a higher value before starting, and set it back after start. In this case, you should beware of a very depleted mixture. By its properties, it does not ensure the normal operation of the engine neither in the hot nor in the cold season. In addition, the lean mixture leads to excessive engine speed, which adversely affects the performance of the chainsaw. Thus, the carburetor of the chainsaw (including Husqvarna 137) should be adjusted so that the resulting mixture is not very poor and at the same time not too enriched.
