Wall cladding is the final stage of construction work. This process can be called artistic, because it is the decorative cladding that gives the building or facade an attractive look, creates its face, determines the mood of the building.
Facing work can be external or internal. The choice of finishing material and the technology of its fastening depend on their type.
The outer wall lining, in addition to the decorative function, also performs a protective one. It is she who protects the house from precipitation, winds, atmospheric influences. It is she who, in the first place, retains heat, takes on the function of a sound insulator.
When choosing a facing material for the exterior decoration of a house, you need to consider its main characteristics.
Decorative plaster. The fastest, easiest and most modern way to decorate facades. Wall cladding with such plaster is durable. In addition, with its help, you can give the walls any kind of appearance: make them plain or multi-colored, decorate with lace prints, fantastic patterns or any other patterns. The number of colors of the plaster is unlimited, and therefore, the number of colors for decorating the home is unlimited.
Ceramic tile. It is usually applied together with plaster. It is possible to clad walls with ceramic tiles from top to bottom, but more often they distinguish a facade, door arches, window openings or a porch. Ceramic tiles can also be tiled floors and walls in bathrooms, hallways, kitchens. It is chemically inert, easily tolerates any effects of the atmosphere or chemicals, is not subject to fire, is easy to clean. The variety of tiles available for sale allows you to implement any artistic solution at the most modest costs.
Natural stone. Facing the walls with wild stone will undoubtedly give the house a status and solidity. The stone is almost eternal. However, it costs significantly more than artificial materials. In addition, heavy natural stone requires a strengthened foundation, work on its cutting is not cheap. Therefore, wall cladding with such material is quite expensive.
Fake diamond. It has all the properties of natural, but much lighter in weight and cheaper in cost. Typically, slabs of artificial stone have strict geometric shapes, so facing work takes much less time. In addition, in the event of damage to one fragment, it can be easily replaced without violating the wall pattern.
Natural wood. It is used for both exterior and interior cladding. This is the most expensive process that takes a lot of time. Only well-dried boards are suitable for cladding. They are not mounted on the wall itself, but on a specially constructed frame. It is believed that lining with natural wood is good for health, because it does not emit harmful substances, but rather creates a useful microclimate in the house, brings it closer to nature.
This is so, but ... In order for the tree not to deteriorate from moisture, so that pests do not start in it, and the outer wall lining does not darken with time and atmospheric influences, the tree must undergo a number of special treatments.
It needs to be impregnated with anti-flammable compounds, bleaches, antiseptics.
