In order to start using a blast furnace in this mode, it must be installed correctly to the heat generator.
Heat generators are of the following types:

- liquid (this mechanism works on any liquid combustible fuel);
- electric (works on electricity from any energy storage);
- radioisotope (such a mechanism works on special expensive pellets).
The heat transfer from each generator is made through an orange square on one side of the mechanism, therefore, the blast furnace must be installed so that its “receiver” is in contact with the heat output from the heat generator.
This can be done as follows: first you need to put the heat generator, and next to it place a blast furnace. After these steps, you need to pick up any key (wrench or electric), hold down the "Shift" (the key that squats on) and click RMB (right-click) on the blast furnace to turn it in the opposite direction, that is, directly to to the generator.
To make sure that everything works correctly, you need to load fuel into the generator, and then place a lever or any other activating object on the blast furnace (also using the "Shift").
Then you need to go into the furnace interface and check if the heating indicator (red bar) is filled. If everything is done correctly, then the stove should begin to heat up.
Now, in order to harden the iron in this furnace, it is necessary to place the ingots of this metal in it, and to place capsules with compressed air as an auxiliary element. They can be very simply made using a compressor, in which it is enough to place an empty capsule so that it is filled with compressed air. Naturally, the compressor must first be connected to an energy source.
Speed up work
The IC2 mod itself aims to automate and speed up the production of any resources. Therefore, many players are interested in whether and, if so, how to speed up the Industrial Craft 2 blast furnace.
True, the answer to it will be rather joyless. Unfortunately, this cannot be done in any way. Only the heating process can be accelerated, but the hardening speed cannot be changed.
