Goldfish: species

Family of goldfish - this species is known to everyone, as it is the most common. These fins have a slightly elongated fins, the body in shape represents something between short-bodied and long-bodied species. Goldfish, the varieties of which are distinguished by sufficient endurance and are priced fairly inexpensively, can have red, red-golden or red-white color.

Veiltail or Rukin

Goldfish, species of which belong to this group, have an ovoid body shape, long fins, which are colored, but due to their subtlety it is practically not noticeable. The eyes of the fish are slightly enlarged, the caudal fin, which hangs in the form of a veil, sometimes exceeds the body in length. Full flowering comes in four years.

Telescope

Also quite common fish that do not need special care and are relatively inexpensive. They have an ovoid body, slightly swollen. All fins are slightly elongated. The main difference of this breed are large eyes. When buying, be sure to pay attention to ensure that they are the same size and are placed symmetrically. Goldfish, the species of which are related to telescopes, can have quite a variety of colors: calico, orange, bright red, black, but the most valuable of them are calico and black telescopes.

Oranda

Orand has a swollen, egg-shaped body. The size and shape of the fins are almost the same as that of the veiltail, but the heads are slightly larger. The older the oranda, the more growths appear on their heads. The variety of colors of these fish is quite large: chocolate, chintz, red-white, red, black. The subspecies of the tancho is very popular due to its original red caps. Their body is pure white, and the growth on the head is painted in bright red. Often, goldfish, whose species are not classified as orandas, are sold under their “name”. These individuals have a red spot on their heads, but this is just a spot, growths - there is no red cap. These fish belong to the subspecies probos, which is a degenerate descendant of thoroughbred fish. Many consider the oranda as the most attractive branch from the selection of golden fish, so it is not surprising that orandas are the most expensive and coveted fish.

Lion head or ranch

Goldfish, species of which belong to this group, have an almost round body. Some of the varieties do not have a dorsal fin; others are round and short. Very large growths grow on the lion heads on the head, which is why they take almost a square shape. At the same time, growths always contrast in color with the body. In Asia, these fish are considered the top of the selection and, accordingly, are the most expensive.

Sky Eye (Stargazer)

These goldfish can be found in two variations: long-bodied and short-bodied. They have no dorsal fins. The color is mainly golden red. A distinctive feature of these fish are the eyes. They are as large as those of telescopes and are directed vertically upward. These waterfowl are mandatory settlers in the ponds of parks in Buddhist monasteries.

Water eyes or shuignon

The shape of these fish is very much like a celestial eye, but under their eyes they have bags filled with liquid and completely transparent. A good specimen of such a goldfish can be identified by the size of these bags - they are almost a quarter of the body. Like the celestial eye, water eyes must be kept under conditions that exclude eye injury. There are individuals in which the bubbles under the eyes have different sizes. This is not considered a marriage, but the cost of such fish is usually reduced. In this case, with age, the sizes of the bags become the same, and if they are damaged, they are restored, however, despite this, very carefully need to transplant these fish, paying special attention to the eyes. Varieties of colorings are identical to orands.
