The Japanese technique of folding flowers from shreds allows you to create unusual things that can be used to decorate hair, clothes, interior details or just a pleasant trifle as a gift to a loved one. Next, we will try to make kanzashi tulips in the master class and decorate them with a magnet.
Getting started
To create a magnet, the following materials will be required:
- satin ribbon 2.5 cm pink, beige and green;
- tweezers;
- scissors;
- candle or lighter;
- glue gun;
- iron ruler;
- needle with thread;
- soldering iron;
- stamens;
- beads;
- felt;
- 4 cm magnet
Now you can start Master Class. Kanzashi Tulips on magnetics will be created in the following order:
- On one petal, cut off a part of a length of 3.5 cm from the pink ribbon. In total, there will be 5 buds of kanzashi tulip in the bouquet, 6 leaves in each. That is, we need 30 blanks.
- We take one segment, fold it in half vertically and cut off the upper edge in an arc to make an oval petal, similar to a tulip.
- We singe the edges of the fabric with a lighter, bending the tape inward. On both sides we bend and collect the lower part. The result was a round leaf.
- Holding the edge with tweezers, singe again, fixing the tape in this position. We make 6 such petals on one flower.
Create a bouquet
It remains to add foliage and assemble the product:
- We cut a segment 8 cm long from the green ribbon. From one part we get 2 leaves. In total you need to make 10 pieces of different shapes. Fold the tape in half, face inward, horizontally.
- We attach a ruler diagonally and draw with a soldering iron, forming a sheet. If there is no soldering iron, you can cut the sheet with scissors, holding it with tweezers, and fix it with a lighter.
- One part of the tape will immediately fix, and you will get a round sheet, and the second should be folded into a sharp corner, sequentially bending the sides of the triangle. Holding the workpiece, holding with tweezers, you need to cut and singe over the candle.
- Fold in half three stamens of black color, apply glue to the tip and scroll slightly with your fingers so that they are fixed.
- Glue the stamens with a pistol to one of the petals. Part of the wire should remain outside, for which we hold the workpiece. Add two petals, gluing them to each other until we form a bud. Then glue another 3 petals in a checkerboard pattern.
- Cut off the excess wire, apply glue to the back of the flower and insert it into the leaf that was fastened with a soldering iron. We make 5 such flowers.
- We collect the bouquet, gluing first two, and then three buds to each other. Get two parts. Until we collect them together.
- Add the rest of the leaves, we also attach them to the glue. We place one between the composition of two colors, helping ourselves with tweezers, and two on the sides of them.
- We attach three collected buds to the front. It remains to add two leaves on the sides of them, and a bouquet of tulips from kanzashi ribbons is ready.

We form a bow
- Take a beige ribbon and cut off 30 cm. Putting the tips on top of each other, we form a bow. We sew it, making several stitches in the middle, and then tighten the thread.
- The ends of the bow are cut diagonally and singed with a candle.
- Put a drop of glue on the tip of a bouquet of tulips and glue a bow.
- Turn the workpiece over and abundantly cover the back with glue to attach the magnet. It can be supplemented with decorative braid.
- It remains to place the beads in the center of the bow to decorate it.
So we made a bouquet of kanzashi tulips. The workshop on creating a magnet is over.
Creating a hair accessory
You can make a bouquet of tulips with an elastic band and use it as a hair ornament. We choose any colors for the buds, it is not necessary to make all the flowers the same.
In the bouquet - 9 flowers. The easiest way to make kanzashi tulips, as for a magnet, using the same technique. We make petals from a ribbon 2.5 cm wide. Leaves are needed only in a round shape with a recess for a flower. In addition, we stock up with an elastic band for hair and a piece of felt to match.
Master class: Kanzashi tulips with elastic
When all the flowers for the bouquet are ready, take a square piece of felt 4 x 4 cm in size and cut three corners to make a βdropβ. Fold it in half and make two parallel cuts to attach the elastic. Then we put an elastic band, cut off a small rectangle of felt and glue to it to fix a large workpiece. Insert the edges of the rectangle into the cuts on the βdropβ and glue the ends.
We start sticking the buds one by one, forming a bouquet. On a bow you will need a ribbon 17 cm long. We sew it in the middle and glue it to the workpiece, decorating the middle with a brooch or bead. Optionally, from a thin ribbon of green color, you can cut several small leaves and add them to the composition, previously singeing the edges with a lighter.
Kanzashi tulips can be used to create topiaries, flower baskets, brooches and other items. It is not necessary to make them only from satin ribbons: ordinary fabrics, vinyl and leather are used as needlework material. The main thing is not to limit your imagination!
