Without technical water, work in many areas is impossible. Actual information on how this fluid is cooled.
Drycooler Fluid Cooling
Thermal and nuclear power plants, as well as industrial enterprises every day use a lot of process water, which goes to cool various mechanisms and units. The water is significantly heated. And since during the cooling process it moves in a circle in a closed loop, it becomes necessary to cool it as well. At large facilities such as power plants, where large volumes of water have to be cooled, tower cooling towers are used.
In small industrial enterprises, the volume of chilled water is much less. In this case, a dry cooling tower, which is also called a dry cooler, acts as a heat exchanger in refrigeration equipment .
The main function of this device is partial cooling of liquids. A dry cooler does not make water icy, but only lowers its temperature. For example, if the water entering the cooling tower has a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius, then at the outlet it will be about 30 degrees.
Dry cooler
Drycooler is a fin-tube heat exchanger, which is equipped with fans to cool the coolant circulating in a closed circuit. Thus, the cooling of water in this device is carried out by the action of a stream of air, which is pumped by a βturntableβ.
The dry cooling tower is designed for outdoor installation, the coolant in it uses water with glycol, which protects the device from freezing. From the drycooler, liquid is supplied to the refrigeration system to cool the mechanisms and components. Then it returns to the cooling tower, where heat is removed to the atmosphere.
Typically, a dry cooler is equipped with axial fans, the power of which is enough to create the desired force of the forced air flow. If it is necessary to increase the pressure, the dry cooler is equipped with more powerful centrifugal fans.
The fan cooling tower is used not only in industry; it was also used in large stores / supermarkets, where it (together with chillers) is used in
air conditioning systems. In such cases,
compressor units are usually installed in special technical rooms with good sound insulation, and fan cooling towers are placed on the roof of the building or a site equipped for this purpose.
Dry cooler advantages
Using a drycooler has some advantages. The most important thing is that when it is used, there is no evaporation of the coolant, since it circulates in a closed closed circuit. Therefore, the device is called a dry cooling tower.
The coolant in such a cooler is not contaminated and does not need additional cleaning after cooling. Adding glycol to the water protects the entire circuit from defrosting.
The use of a dry cooler cannot lead to chemical pollution of the environment and does not increase air humidity. This explains the fact that the dry cooling tower is used in those places where special attention is paid to the environmental situation.
