Star Wars is the greatest space saga ever made. A huge universe filled with incredible stories. The plot is based on the confrontation between the Jedi Knights and the selfish Sith. These two armies represent one side of the great power that they use and worship. The Jedi Temple is the main building saturated with their teachings, and all knights are inextricably linked to it.
Religion and Temples
Any religious doctrine is closely interconnected with places that have a certain symbolism, and sometimes meaning. As a rule, they are called temples. Special buildings that are filled with spiritual strength and in which there is a special atmosphere. The land on which they are erected is considered holy, and any abuse of it or the building itself is a terrible crime. Incidentally, the temple on Coruscant is a direct reference to the Temple of God in Jerusalem.
The Jedi Temple is far more important than similar structures in other religions. This is not just a place of religious rituals, it is a real base of the ancient order of chivalry, using great power to achieve the ideals of justice in the whole galaxy. We can say that this is a full-fledged high-tech fortress, saturated with power. The oldest temples, although not used, still carry a strong imprint of power and contain forgotten or well-hidden ancient knowledge. For example, information about the delicate balance between the dark and light sides of the force, which gives incredible enlightenment and power.
In heyday
In better times, Jedi temples were located on many planets, and the order was very numerous. The influence of the knights in the galaxy was great. When the Galactic Empire established its hard power, it first tried to completely destroy everything that was associated with the Jedi. Completely erase them from the history of the universe. Thanks to the films, the audience knows only about the main temple on Coruscant, that is, on the capital planet of the Republic, but there were others.
Almost antiquity
The oldest Jedi temples were very different from what the viewer saw in the films. Then the knights preferred to balance between light and darkness, that is, they preached balance and the rational use of great power. In the days of the Republic, the Jedi have long forgotten about that ancient doctrine and occupy only the bright side of the force, in every possible way avoiding its dark manifestations.
In Star Wars, the Jedi temples are not given as much attention, but meanwhile they talk a lot about the nature of power and how man discovered the ability to use it. Traditionally, the most interesting are the possibilities of the dark side, because they are almost limitless. This is precisely what the modern Jedi feared, and their common fear only strengthened his curiosity in the budding Anakin. This, in turn, led to its transition to the dark side and to disastrous consequences, which no one had foreseen.
Jedi Temple Guardian
Traditionally, this position is one of the most prestigious in the order. Not everyone can take such a position, because the basic requirements for the applicant indicate the experience of working as a Jedi. Moreover, it is not so much time devoted to service that is required, but absolute fidelity. Guards always wear uniform robes and masks that hide their faces. These fighters devoted their whole lives to serving the good of the order and were able to earn the guard post.
What is inside the Jedi temple?
The temple is not only a sacred place for the order, but also a permanent base that resembles a fortress. Because of the eternal confrontation with adepts of the dark side, temples are always reliably fortified from attacks from the outside, but poorly protected from betrayal. As history has shown, a traitor is worse than any, even the most insidious enemy.
Inside the temple are barracks for young Jedi, knights and masters. Of particular importance is the central informatory. This is a huge database of everything that is known to mankind. The temple also has facilities for training, competitions and rooms for constant meditation, which offer stunning views of the city. Also at the highest point is a special room for the masters of the order, in which they not only consult, but also meditate regularly.
