Spitz chanterelle: breed description, care features, photo

A cute furry miracle with a smiling muzzle like a fox will leave few indifferent. The animal wants to stroke and cuddle. But not everything is so simple - the little dogs have their own opinion on this matter, and they can express their “phi” with a clear bark. We are talking about a Pomeranian chanterelle.

A bit of history

These dogs were first seen in Germany in Pomerania. Pomeranian is the smallest of the breed. The first migration of these dogs occurred in 1870 in the UK during the reign of Queen Victoria.

spitz fox

In 1871, Her Majesty founded the Pomeranian Spitz club, which began to approve the first breed standards. They clarified that oranges are a dwarf subspecies.

But after 1945, the German Spitz club revised the breed standards. To date, the most exemplary Pomeranian spitz come from America.

Dog appearance

The Kennel Club from America has adopted the standard, which clearly sets out what the dwarf breed of the Pomeranian Fox type should look like. It has slight differences from the classic German Spitz.

The fox looks very pretty, she is graceful and elegant:

  • The coat consists of coarse hard hair and a very thick soft undercoat. Because of its density, it almost sticks out in different directions. Therefore, Spitz are similar to a fluffy lump.
  • The back of the dog is straight and short, and the croup is wide.
  • The hips are decorated with fluffy wool. The front and hind limbs are straight.
  • On the legs are long fingers. The nails and pads are black; in dogs with a chocolate color, they are brown.
  • The tail is fun high and wrapped in a ringlet.
  • The head of the chanterelle spitz is very similar to the wedges. In profile, it is a spilled little fox. From the forehead to the nose, the muzzle extends and becomes narrower.
  • Clever eyes have an almond-shaped or round shape, but should not be convex.
  • The ears on the head are close and stand.
  • The upper jaw is slightly more massive than the lower. The dog has a scissor bite.

A narrow neat chin, a nose with a black button and furry cheeks form a pretty smile on her face. It remains only to take a photo! Spitz chanterelle boasts different colors of its fur coat.

Breed color

The palette of the coat of the pet may surprise. Twenty of its shades are found. A wide selection will satisfy anyone who wants to get a furry friend. Chanterelle dogs are most often:

  • redheads;
  • beige;
  • blue;
  • black
  • brown;
  • sable color;
  • cream.

If you want to take part in the exhibition, you need to know that white spots in the pet's color are not standard and are assessed as a defect. White and beige colors are a pleasant exception. But whatever the color of the pet, it is always cheerful and agile.

Dog character

Spitz chanterelle loves to play. From the “smile” of this dog, hearts melt. The animal is very obedient, always trying to please the owner and catches every word of it. Perfectly adapts to the schedule of the owner, will wake up and go to bed with him.

The owner’s mobile lifestyle, the dog will only support. Long walks, jogging, traveling, hiking - all like a fluffy pet. But rest and household chores also will not do without the attention of the Spitz.

Intellectual abilities of a dog on top. She quickly finds contact with a person, thanks to a lively mind and resourcefulness. He instantly understands what is required of her, clearly carrying out commands and even tricks.

Spitz for a walk

Spitz chanterelle is by nature a guard. The size, of course, is not suitable for such an honorable service, but the dog will boldly defend its territory and will eagerly quarrel with representatives of larger breeds, raising a ringing bark.

Special attention should be paid to the disadvantages of this breed:

  • When seasonal molting sets in, the Spitz will lose a lot of hair, and it will be everywhere. Dogs should be combed regularly.
  • Increased dominance in the temperament of the chanterelle entails a lot of problems. She will conflict with any animal.
  • This breed of animals is very "barking." Voiced barking can annoy neighbors.

But if you conscientiously deal with the care and upbringing of a pet, then everything can be adjusted.

Puppy selection

Deciding to choose a chanterelle puppy puppy should focus on the activity of the baby. If he runs, plays, eats well and regularly goes to the toilet - this is a healthy puppy.

Problems with the well-being of "fluffy" affect his behavior:

  • he whines;
  • sits in a corner, showing no interest in anything;
  • frightened, breaks out of hands, aggressive, trying to bite;
  • backs away, hiding behind his mother.

A healthy animal must run up to a person, sniff it, satisfying its curiosity. Before you get a future pet, you should carefully examine it. Signs of a healthy dog:

  1. The puppy's gait is smooth, and the springy run.
  2. Confident rack with a direct back.
  3. Significantly twisted tail, raised up.
  4. Wool without odors, fluffy and clean.
  5. The skin without wounds, inflammation and rashes.
  6. The ears are clean, without ticks and secretions.
  7. The puppy’s belly is soft, not swollen or hollow.
  8. Radiant eyes without purulent discharge.
  9. The number of teeth in a well-developing dog is at least 12.

In 4–5 months, the first molt will begin, only then can we clearly say what color the orange will have. The structure of the wool and its color will form completely only by the year.

Preparatory work

Before you bring a puppy to your home, you should take the necessary measures. First you need to hide:

  • all wires;
  • hesitantly standing objects;
  • chemical substances;
  • bin.

You should also block access to dangerous slots and put your shoes higher. Otherwise, everything will be tested for taste and for a fun game.

dog house

Necessarily worth:

  • Identify a resting place for the puppy. It can be a corner without drafts and heating devices. Specialty shops sell different baskets and houses for small dogs such as fox spitz.
  • It is also necessary to designate a place to feed your pet and quench your thirst. To do this, he must have special bowls.
  • At the initial stage, you will need a disposable diaper. The puppy cannot be taken outside yet, but it is necessary to cope with the natural need and he will do it in the apartment.
  • You should purchase a tray. If in your future plans the teaching of orange to the tray, it should be in a certain place.
  • Buy toys. They are necessary for games and for the puppy to nibble them.

Keeping a fox-type spitz in the house is not too difficult, but it cannot be called simple. The animal is unpretentious in the care, nutrition, conditions. But the character and molt of the pet will require time, patience, strength and finances from the owner.
