Morality, as a rule, arose in those sections (image board sections), where immoral pictures, resonant articles and pornographic animations were laid out. In a word, it was shock content. Outraged users began to enter into a heated debate with the author of the post (and his advocates) over his immorality. Given the meaninglessness of such a dialogue, regular users of the forum called such people “moral phages”.
That is, the moral phage is a militant moralist. It would seem to sound! But it was not there. Not all outraged were considered moral phages. The meaning of this concept is deeper. A moralphage is one who, without any doubt, enters into an uncompromising dispute if the following topics are discussed: pornography, abortion, euthanasia, anime, all kinds of extremism, sexual minorities, dissatisfaction with religion, resonant art or literary works, and the like. These people are constantly unhappy with something. Popular moralist attacks: the requirement to remove articles on sexual topics and publications from Wikipedia that contain profanity, a wild reaction to critical thinking about religion, hatred of those who do not respect veterans, and the like.
