This is an honorary title that is awarded to a pensioner for special merits in active labor. What are they, and how much is this serious support for the most vulnerable part of the population - pensioners?
Who can be awarded the title "Veteran of Labor"?
Long work experience does not yet make it possible to apply for such a title. To do this, you must meet the following categories:
1. A citizen (citizen) began (a) to work during the years of the Second World War even before reaching the age of majority. Moreover, the total length of service should be 40 years or more for a man and 35 years for a woman. In this case, the title and benefits of a labor veteran are granted without any conditions.
2. The employee has orders, letters, departmental honorary titles of federal or municipal significance, for example, āHonored Worker of Educationā, āPeople's Artistā and so on. In this case, it does not matter if the pensioner continues to work or is on a well-deserved rest.
How can I get an honorary certificate?
The solution to this issue is within the competence of social protection authorities at the pensioner's place of residence (the so-called social security). A pensioner who, according to the above indicators, deserves this honorary title, must submit the following documents:
- employment record (copies of all pages certified by the personnel department on each sheet) to confirm the work experience;
- originals of awards - orders, medals, as well as certificates for them;
- two photos 3 * 4;
- application for conferring rank. Within fifteen days from the date of receipt and registration of documents, the pensioner must be given a positive or negative answer. In the second case, the citizen has the right to demand an explanation of the reasons for the refusal.
What benefits does a labor veteran have?
From the first month after receiving an honorary certificate, a pensioner is entitled to certain benefits. It should be noted that amendments to the legislation on social protection are made from time to time, and therefore it will be useful to take an interest in innovations.
As for benefits, these are:
- free medical care in budgetary hospitals and clinics;
- free prosthetics in state dental clinics;
- free travel by car within the city and suburbs, not including a taxi;
- 50% discount on the purchase of tickets for travel by train or water transport of a suburban service (during the period when seasonal tariffs apply);
- a subsidy (50% discount) when paying for housing and communal services, as well as paying for cable TV, radio, and the Internet. In addition, the same benefits are provided for the payment of housing (rent).
Are there any benefits to a labor veteran if he continues to work? Of course, yes. If a person of retirement age does not go on a well-deserved rest, he freely enjoys the same rights as other members of the team. He receives the same salary and paid leave on schedule. In addition, the benefits of a labor veteran allow the employee to take additional unpaid leave for a period of 30 days at any time convenient for him.
It is unlikely that the average Russianās pension provides him with any decent life. You can directly say: providing pensioners is a weak link for the state. And because the extra penny will never be ... extra. If the work biography of a respectable person allows him to apply for the title and benefits of a labor veteran, then this question does not need to be put off the bat. The state is obliged to take care of its citizens, especially if they deserve it for many years and honest work.
