When life does not shine with bright colors, but you want to somehow stand out and show your personality, home-made fenki will come to the rescue. Looking at such beauty, it seems that it’s very difficult to understand how to weave baubles: with names, with geometric patterns or just stripes.
However, it is not only beautiful, but also easy!
Before weaving baubles with names, you need to prepare all the necessary materials: two-color floss thread , scissors, scotch tape and a pin (to unravel unsuccessful knots). Suppose we want a little girl named "Anastasia." Weaving baubles with names requires making a diagram on paper in a cage according to this principle:
The height of the letters we have is 8 cells, and even a cell on each side: a total of 10. This means that you need to take 10 threads of the color (each - 1.5 meters long) that you selected for your name on the bracelet. Now we unwind a thread of a different color (it will be background), and its length should be 8-9 meters. That is, in total we will get 11 threads, among which one is very long.
Now that the floss is prepared, there are a few more preparatory work left before weaving the baubles with the names. Having gathered the threads as shown in the photo, and stepping back from the edge of 8-9 cm, we make a strong knot. The part that makes up a small piece (those same 8-9 cm) is glued with tape to the table.
Now you can start weaving personalized baubles. Look at the diagram to the left of the photo. We take a long thread and use it to make a knot on the thread of a different color closest to it. In general, this will look like tying shoelaces, however, you need to consider that a short thread needs to be kept taut, and a long thread should slide upwards, as it were, until you get a small one near a large knot. Done? And now we repeat the same action again. That is, we should get two small knots on one thread. Tighten them harder, but you should not be zealous either.
Next, we tie the same long thread around another (short). Twice, like last time. Done? Now we repeat the action with the third thread, then with the fourth, fifth and so on, until we braid all 10 threads. So the first row is finished! Most likely, it turned out to be pretty crooked, but this is normal: then things will go better. Now start braiding the second row, only now, unlike the first, you will need to do this from right to left.
So in this way you need to weave 9-10 rows. Now you can proceed directly to the interweaving of letters. We put the diagram in front of us vertically. We look at the letter "A". The first cell is empty, so we braid one thread in the same way as in previous times. And now the letter itself begins. In order to start doing it, you need to do almost the same thing as before, with only one difference: if before that we braided a short thread long, now ... surely, we braid a long thread with a short thread. As before - twice. This is how we weave the name step by step. When the bracelet is long enough, complete the work with a tight knot. Loose threads on the sides can be braided.
