The symbolism of this country is interesting in the presence of several variants of the emblem - large and small. Each contains important points for understanding the history of the state, so they should be considered separately.
Great option
The national emblem of Serbia is a symbol of the sovereignty of the country, which was approved in August 2004. At the same time, a new anthem and flag were chosen, which replaced the signs that were used when the territory became part of Yugoslavia. The large coat of arms of Serbia depicts a double-headed eagle. On his chest is a red shield. It depicts the so-called Serbian cross with four flints. Above the shield are a cloak and a royal crown. They coincide with the images from the coat of arms of the Obrenovichi dynasty, which was adopted in 1882. The use of such symbolism serves only as a reference to the history of the state, not having to do with the monarchist system. There are other countries in the world that use the emblem of the royal crown or other elements in their coats of arms, but at the same time they are democratic republics. These include Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Montenegro and Georgia.
Small option
The small coat of arms of Serbia looks like a red shield, which depicts a silver double-headed eagle crowned with a crown. There are nine feathers on each head, and the beaks are turned in different directions and are made in golden color, they are wide open. The wings are outstretched and form the shape of a cross along with the tail and heads. The feathers on the neck of the eagle are distributed in four rows, each with seven feathers. On the wings, the pattern is about the same. Each wing has four rows with different numbers: seven feathers in the first, nine in the second, seven in the third and the same in the fourth. The eagle has golden legs that are directed diagonally. The tail is located vertically, on it are three rows of feathers of seven. On the chest there is a red shield with four fields, each with one silver flint. Above is a golden crown with white beads, blue sapphires and red rubies, as well as with a cross. The large coat of arms of Serbia is complemented by a mantle with ermine lining as a background. In addition, the crown on it looks different: more sapphires adorn it.
Using
The modern coat of arms and flag of Serbia were adopted by relevant regulation in August 2004. It also describes the rules for their use. According to the constitution, their presence defines a republic as an independent state with sovereignty. The emblem can be used in two versions, this allows the law established in June 1882. Therefore, both large and small are in use. The national emblem of Serbia, whose photographs are known to many Europeans, is used in the main version on the facades of the following buildings: people's assembly, the government of the president, the constitutional court, and the national bank. It is also present on official seals. The small coat of arms is used on the facades of municipal institutions.
Serbian flag
The country uses the tricolor of a rectangular shape traditional for most countries. In addition to the stripes, the state emblem in its small version is placed on the cloth. The colors go horizontally in the following order: top is red, in the middle is blue and bottom is white. Each of them is associated with a specific value. So, blue has long been associated with chastity and honesty. Red is a sign of courage and courage of the country's warriors. White serves as a symbol of peace and nobility. Interesting attitude to the emblem. It occupies a major position and is located on all three bands. In this case, according to official law, the use of the panel without any image of this emblem is acceptable.
