The idea of building a new capital of Brazil in the central part of the country appeared a very long time ago. Implementation of the plan was accomplished only when Kubitschek Juscelin became president. Thanks to the new location of the capital, called "Brasilia", the vast and sparsely populated areas of the country's highlands were drawn into social and economic updates. Construction began in 1957 and already in 1960 the “city of hopes”, which grew in the middle of the desert, was officially opened.
In the construction of Brasilia, the most advanced, modern technologies and architectural methods were used. With the advent of the new main metropolis, the overpopulated old capital of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, has unloaded.
The largest city in the country is located on a plateau whose height above sea level is more than one thousand meters.

Despite the fact that the sea is far from the city, this does not deter tourists.

The main city of the country is most striking in that, with its short existence, it contains so many parks and green spaces that it is impossible to count them. In this, it differs from all other world megacities.
Still famous and popular among tourists remains the old capital of Brazil - Rio de Janeiro. The megalopolis attracts with a dazzling ocean, the presence of tropical islands and cozy bays. The main attraction of Rio is the snow-white statue of Christ the Redeemer, 38 meters high, located on Mount Corcovado. Tourists are also attracted by the architecture of ancient churches and colonial buildings. And, of course, one cannot fail to mention the most important event, attracting people from all over the world. Every year in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Carnival, known for its enchanting and unique character, is held.
