For the first time, the laminate appeared on the flooring market thanks to the efforts of PERSTORF. Back in 1977, she first began to use it not only in furniture production, but also for the organization of floor coverings. Thanks to this, new material quickly became extremely popular. By the way, what is it and what determines the colors of the laminate, which is so popular today?
Note that its name translates as “layered material”. Unfortunately, our fellow citizens still believe that the laminate is somehow related to the floorboard. Unfortunately, this has little to do with reality. In particular, its commonality with the parquet is manifested only due to the texture, which resembles a natural tree. Of course, the unifying parameter may be the colors of the laminate, as now products are being produced not only with imitation of wood, but even marble and other materials!
But to create a truly stunning interior in your home, you must consider several aspects at once. As you may have guessed, the laminate color palette of your choice is of utmost importance. Given the huge variety of options, making a choice can be very difficult.
What colors of laminate flooring are best for your home? It should be noted that when choosing a color palette, there are several basic rules. For example, when the windows of your room are facing south, it makes sense to select the lightest laminate as possible. “White oak”, “maple” and similar colors are ideal. If you choose the dark colors of the laminate, then on a sunny day on this floor all pollution will be perfectly visible.
On the contrary, in the rooms of the north side (or somehow darkened) it will be better to look just the same dark flooring. But in this case, it is unacceptable to neglect the size of the room. If it is small, then a too dark floor will further reduce its volume visually.
Note that in studio apartments and small houses in which the space has to be divided into functional areas, it is best to use a dark laminate in the work area. But at the same time, you need to try to use the walls and ceiling in light shades, since the game of contrasts looks most profitable. So before choosing the color of the laminate, you need to carefully consider the floor plan, as otherwise the effect will be far from ideal.
In the kitchen, it is best to use the tile imitation we already mentioned. If possible, it is better to purchase a waterproof laminate, as the floor in this room has to be washed often. In any case, high-quality wax impregnation will certainly not be superfluous, and the strength class should not be lower than 32, as otherwise it may happen that fallen dishes damage the floor covering.
The most problematic area in terms of wear and pollution is the entrance hall. In her case, thinking about what color to choose a laminate is not worth it, since only dark material with a high class of wear resistance will be able to maintain its attractive appearance for a long time. In a word, we do not recommend going to the construction store “at random”, because otherwise you will not be able to create the proper interior, and later you will encounter many problems.
