But there were still picturesque and almost untouched corners in Azeroth, where the traveler can enjoy the virgin nature. Ashenval, or Ashenvale (WoW), is just such a place. Geography
Ashenvale, located in the northern part of Azeroth, has become a de facto center, because there are intersecting paths leading in all important directions: the northern road will lead the traveler to Felwood (Cursed Forest); western - to the Darkshore; heading south, you will find yourself in the Steppes and Mountains of a stone claw; in the east are Durotar and Azshara. In the east, the forest is crossed by the Falfaren River. Astranaar, the capital of Ashenval, is a large and rather numerous city, inhabited by alliance representatives and dark elves.
This location is intended for players who have reached level 19-30. How to get to Ashenvale? A representative of the alliance comes here from the territory of the Darkshore. The Horde player can get here through the Stone Claw and Barren Mountains.
Main locations
The western part of the forest is controlled by night elves and their allies. In addition to Astranaar, several rather large settlements of the Alliance representatives are scattered throughout Ashenval:
- Forest Song is a location located east of Satirnaar.
- Shelter Renwood - a huge tree in the center of the forest.
- Srebryglykh Shelter is a settlement located in the southern part of Ashenvale.
- The post of the Maestra is a location in the northwest of Astranaar.
- Silver-winged Grove is the southern part of Ashenvale.
- The Aessina Sanctuary is a southwestern location.
Horde settlements in most cases are located in the eastern and southern parts, near Azshara and the Steppes. The largest of them:
- Split tree outpost. This Horde settlement is located northeast of the Corrupted Flame Halls.
- Zoram'Gar Post is a location located in the coastal strip of Zoram. The most extreme western point of the forest.
- Kargat Fortress - a settlement located in the east of Ashenvale, is the center of the War Song Song Sawmill.
Also, travelers may meet settlements that do not belong to either the Alliance or the Horde. In such places, the player usually does not expect anything good, because the inhabitants who inhabit them do not favor uninvited guests.
Who lives here?
The vast territory of the Ashenvale Forest is dense forest, where a human foot has never set foot. Ashenvale trees are old and huge, some of them are able to talk. Most of the population is friendly to travelers, but not to those who try to cut their way through the ax. In this case, the unlucky lumberjack will feel all the power of nature in his own skin. Dryads and guardians of groves, as well as the many night elves that inhabit the thickets of forests, are pretty well explained in the common language.
Dangerous inhabitants
But you should not think that Ashenvale is an absolutely safe place. The more often quite dangerous Beorn live. These bear-like creatures became distraught by the fel that touched them, which made them overly aggressive. Closer to the desecrated forest, you can meet the guards and hounds of Fel, as well as many other surviving demons. No less dangerous are the satyrs - the descendants of the night elves, who fell under the rule of the Burning Legion and continue to carry out the will of Sargares. These creatures torment dryads and animals, desecrate the earth and are the main enemies of travelers. In general, Ashenval is a rather densely populated area. In these places live wolves and bears, spiders and black forest panthers, revived trees and dryads, demons, worgens, murlocs, swamp elementals and nagas.
Special places
Ashenvale is an interesting location, a full study of which will take a lot of time. In addition to settlements, Ashenwal is rich in special places in which travelers are waiting for unforgettable adventures. The most famous of them:
- Iris Lake. A small location located northeast of Astranaar. On the shore of this lake you can find the Tears of Elune - stones with healing properties. But this area is teeming with dangerous bog creatures, which makes the search for artifacts rather unsafe.
- Blackfathom Deeps. An underwater dungeon located in the northwest, inhabited by mages of the Twilight's Hammer clan, murlocs, naga, and satire.
- Sanctuary of Fire Cleft. The Burning Legion made this place the center of its activities. This location is vigilantly guarded by Felhounds and horror guards.
- Voya Valley is an abandoned sanctuary that has become a shelter for worgens.
- Canyon of the Fallen Warrior. A gorge filled with toxic fumes. In this place, the glorious leader of the War Song clan died while fighting the demon Mannoroth. In memory of another, the leader of the horde erected an obelisk on the battlefield. According to rumors, some demons still live in this place.
- Howling Valley. This location is located on the border of the northern side of Ashenval. Once upon a time there was the shrine of Mel'Tandris, but now wolves have settled on its ruins.
