Childhood

The future writer was born in a small village of the Kirov region two months after the start of World War II. Vladimir Krupin reflected childhood memories in the collection “Vyatka Notebook”. Student years

After a three-year army service, Vladimir Krupin applied to the Literary Institute . Gorky. However, he did not pass the competition and entered the pedagogical institute, the faculty of Russian philology.

By the time he received the diploma, Krupin was married and lived with his wife in a communal apartment. The time was not easy. I had to work hard, write scripts for television. But for creativity, even in those years, Krupin found time. And despite the fact that he could not publish his works for a very long time. Only in 1974 was Vladimir Krupin able to publish his first collection of short stories.
