One of the first flowers in spring appears crocuses, or saffron. These are small violet, yellow, white, lilac, pink, blue flowers with a bright yellow (orange) core. Despite its simplicity, the flowers are elegant and mysterious in their own way. Let's try to convey this beauty to artificial flowers and make a whole bunch of crocuses from corrugated paper.
What will be needed for work
To create our creation you will need:
- white, yellow, green paper;
- stick (skewer, toothpick);
- wire or thread;
- PVA glue;
- scissors;
- decorative basket.
Let's talk a little about the necessary material for the master class. For these colors, choose a smoother crepe paper (not an accordion). Corrugated paper crocuses look like real ones, because the thin texture allows the material to take any shape under the touch of a finger. Such paper is sold in rolls and cut sheets of A4 format.
The length of the stick will determine the size of the stem and petals. For small decorative baskets, vases, pots, use a toothpick. For vases with a height of more than 15 centimeters, create large flowers on skewers. If the stems are made of wire, then the flower can be tilted in any direction.
The basket can be bought or weaved from paper. Instead, you can take a plastic cup and decorate it under a vase or pot. Use any decorative fittings that you think fit.
MK: corrugated paper crocuses
For one flower, you need to cut 6 strips of paper with a length of 13 cm and a width of 2.5 cm. Corrugated lines should be located along, not across. Define the center of the strip and twist it twice. This will be the base of the petal.
Now fold the strip in half and form the top of the petal. To do this, fingers need to stretch up the paper in different directions. Try to wrap the corners a little inward and round them. Squeeze and twist the base of the resulting double petal.
For the core , cut a small yellow or orange rectangle into thin strips. You will get a kind of “fence”, which you wrap around a stick and stick it. Fluff the core a little and begin to grow petals. First attach three internal, then as many external petals, give them a shape and fasten with wire or thread.
Flower picking
We continue to make crocuses from corrugated paper. Take the green paper and cut it into long strips two centimeters wide. In this case, the corrugated lines should be across. Now make the leaves. Cut thin strips one centimeter wide.
We form leaves in two ways. In the first case, make the edge sharp, bending the corners. In the second case, twist the strip into a tube. You will get completely different narrow leaves that you stick to the stem or wrap with green paper. For the stem, fold the strip in half and wrap it around the stem.
If you pay attention to live crocuses, you will see that they have a very interesting stem. The fact is that the flower petals at the base are darker, and pass into the stem. Therefore, it can be made and purple, and lilac, and pink. Or make a sepal of six prongs from paper, which will be lighter or darker in tone compared to a petal. According to this principle, do the right amount of crocuses.
Basket for crocuses
Take an ordinary plastic bucket, cardboard and corrugated paper. The bottom line is that you will glue the bucket with corrugated tubes, which, due to their volume and “tuberosity”, will create an unusual appearance of a wicker basket.
How to make corrugated tubules:
- cut corrugated paper fifteen to seventeen centimeters wide (if you have ready-made sheets, nothing needs to be cut);
- outline the middle with a pencil;
- on 4 mm knitting needles, wind the paper from both sides to the middle;
- holding the knitting needles, squeeze the obtained tubes with their ends to each other, creating a "harmonica"
- carefully remove the corrugated tube from the spokes.
Now glue the bucket with such tubes, in which you first need to remove the handle and protruding sides. Cut out a strip of paper from the cardboard (handle) and glue it with corrugated tubes. At the bottom you can put clay and stick crocuses from corrugated paper into it. A basket with a bouquet of flowers is ready!
How else can you make crocuses
In fresh flowers, the core immediately attracts attention. A bright orange pestle, as it were, breaks out of a bud in which light petals alternate with dark ones. By the way, the petals can be striped, so they can be painted with paints. Some craftswomen make flowers from corrugated paper (crocuses) in detail, that is, each petal is cut separately. But then they need to be made not 6, but 12 in order to create volume.
How to make the core of crocuses more voluminous? Take corrugated paper and cut a rectangle 8 cm long. Cut it into centimeter strips and twist them into narrow sticks. Now grease them with PVA glue and dip in semolina, which is painted yellow in advance.
Leaflets can be cut out of paper according to the pattern. Or, gently bend a long 1.5-centimeter rectangle around the edges: creating an acute angle from one end and a centimeter base from the other. The sepals can not be done separately, but formed when wrapping the stem. To do this, bend the rectangular strip so as to create a fist in which you put the flower, and carefully wrap the stalk further with paper, attaching the leaves.
How else can you present flowers from paper
Crocuses can become not only a decorative, but also a tasty gift. To do this, glue the edge of the candy on the toothpick or skewer with tape and wrap it with petals. Here the petals can be made as follows:
- cut a long strip of paper;
- cut corners from one edge, forming a small base;
- on the other hand, retreat 2 centimeters and twist the strip once;
- bend the end inward and form a convex petal.
The rest of the process of creating crocuses is the same as described above. It is important to fix the candy so that it does not lean and deform the petals. Set such a bouquet in a basket or vase and present to your colleagues.
Crocuses from corrugated paper can be represented as a three-dimensional panel. To do this, glue the basket of corrugated tubes on the cardboard, and insert and attach the flowers made into it. Place in a frame - and get an unusual picture.
