It softens the seemingly petrified hearts of resentment. People who have adopted the game of a girl become more humane and kinder, they recognize the goal of their own existence. Porter Elinor reveals to the reader the wonderful world of the heroine she created. After the novel was published, Pollyanna was recognized as the most optimistic literary hero. The society reacted incredibly actively to the appearance of the book. The Pollyanna Clubs sprang up in all parts of America. In 2002, a monument was erected to the heroine in the courtyard of the public library in Littleton. She is represented in the image of a girl with a fluttering dress and her arms wide apart, like wings. The book was filmed several times in the United States and other countries. The performance of the same name is successfully staged by the Moscow Youth Theater. There are also musical versions of this novel. Porter continued to write until the last days of his life, and new works of the author aroused great interest among readers. In 1915, the second novel dedicated to an unusual girl was published. It is called "Pollyanna grows." He also enjoyed great success. In total, during her own literary work, the writer created 4 volumes with short stories, as well as fourteen novels for adults and children. Among her most famous works: “Just David”, “The Way to Consent”, “About Money, Money!”, “Dawn” and others. Porter Elinor passed away in 1920, May 21. It happened in Cambridge.
