It is wrong to think that it is better to accumulate more gold, then to buy the best armor and go through the whole game with them. Will not work! Without the necessary equipment, it is impossible to complete quests, defeat bosses or use magic scrolls.
Fights are so complex that one missed strike can become fatal and you will have to start passing the mission from the place of the previous save.
Simple leather armor in Gothic 2: Return is available from merchants. There is little sense, but better than running naked across locations. For getting good-quality armor, you will have to pay a fee to characters issuing uniforms. Another way: carefully examine the dungeons for secret rooms containing the best Gothic 2 armor.
Guild armor
The best you can get in the first chapter, but only almost at the end. Up to this point, you should acquire standard leather armor, because experience can be gained by completing quests related to the destruction of all kinds of monsters, mutants and other monsters.

There is a third way: to rob Lobart (the armor lies in the chest). At the next conversation, the NPC will attack the protagonist. In the future, there will be quests associated with this character, therefore it is better not to risk it.

Water ring
In Gothic 2: Return, the best armor can be obtained in the first chapter, Water Ring Armor. To get it, you will have to join the appropriate society and complete a series of tasks to find the missing inhabitants of Khorinis.

Third chapter

Chapters four and five

Few people had a question where to find armor in "Gothic 2". All equipment can be obtained for completing quests or purchased for gold from non-player characters.
Difficulties arise from a habit: did not manage to put up a block or dodge a blow or ran into a dangerous enemy without proper preparation. Everything else is passable.
2018 was marked by the growth of technological progress in the gaming industry, but the projects are such that it’s easier to watch the passage video than to acquire a powerful PC and enjoy.
This is one of the reasons why many gamers are happy to "dig out" half-forgotten masterpieces and, not paying attention to angular characters and other graphic flaws, indulge in nostalgia.
