History and stages of construction
Back in the eighties of the last century, it was planned to open a metro station in Zhulebino. But the implementation of the project was constantly delayed, and after the restructuring, it was completely frozen for an indefinite time. Only in August 2010, the Moscow government decided on the need to extend the metro lines beyond the Moscow Ring Road.
The construction took a long time, and the opening dates of the station were postponed repeatedly. This was due to a lack of funding and force majeure circumstances arising from the work.
One of these stops was due to a breakthrough of groundwater into the tunnel. In this incident, none of the workers was injured, but the rebuilt areas had to be concreted and a branch laid taking into account the hydrogeology of the place.
November 9, 2013 the long-awaited opening of the Zhulebino station took place, which became 190 points on the map of the metro. Until 2015, it was the ultimate in this direction.
New county
Once on the site of the current municipal district of Zhulebino there was a small village of the same name. As the metropolitan metropolis grew, this area became part of Moscow. In Zhulebino-Vykhino, before the opening of the Zhulebino metro station, there was a difficult situation with traffic jams during rush hour.
