What could be better than creating bright butterflies with your child on the eve of summer? And if you combine application and drawing, then a pleasant pastime turns into a useful activity.
Mirror Butterfly . How to make paper craft in mirror technique? Simply. To do this, you need a sheet of white cardboard, gouache or watercolor paints, scissors, soft wire and a reel from toilet paper.
Half of the wings, body and head of the butterfly are cut out of paper folded in half so that the fold line is simultaneously the middle of the future insect body. Further, while maintaining the bend of the sheet, paint of various shades is plentifully applied to the workpiece in an arbitrary order. After which, without allowing the gouache to dry, you need to expand the butterfly and bend it again, but so that the painted and white parts fit snugly together. It will be enough to keep the wings in this position for about thirty seconds, after which the workpiece unfolds again and is delayed for a while to completely dry the paint.
In the meantime, you should start painting the bobbin, which will become the body of the butterfly. To do this, it is applied with a brush or just with the fingers the same colors as on the wings, and also in random order.
When both parts are sufficiently dry, the bobbin is attached to the wings with glue, and six to seven centimeters long antennae are cut from soft wire and also connected to the wings. A butterfly made of paper in mirror technique is ready.
Harmonica butterfly . It will take quite a bit of time and money to make it. Two color reproductions in the form of 8 * 8 and 10 * 10 cm squares must be cut out of a newspaper or magazine. Fold both blanks with an accordion. It should be noted that the smaller the square, the more beautiful and voluminous the butterfly will turn out. Then the folded rectangles should be cut so that two diagonally elongated rhombuses are obtained. Then both blanks are fastened with a dense wool thread. A butterfly made of paper using the accordion technique is ready.
Quilling butterfly
A quilling paper butterfly is beautiful and original. This craft will be an excellent basis for creating both postcards and decorations. For it, you need two paper strips of 15 cm, six of 8 cm and four of 4 cm. These blanks for quilling should be the same tone. One black strip 30 cm long will also be needed. In addition, you should stock up with a slot for quilling rings, glue and scissors.
How to make a butterfly out of quilling paper? All strips of the same color are twisted into loose circles and placed in the slot according to size. As soon as they take the necessary shape, they should be carefully removed from the cells in order to carefully secure their ends with glue. Then a petal is formed from each circle. Now we can begin to form the “body” of the wings. The elements are glued together in the following order:
- for a larger wing, those created from an eight-centimeter tape are attached to the petal from a 15 cm strip on both sides;
- for a smaller wing, the base is a petal made of an 8-centimeter strip, and the smallest elements are attached on both sides.
The resulting wings are edged with glue with a black strip for quilling. Paper butterfly ready.
