LE-Carousel violet: description, photo, growing

One of the most popular indoor flowers is violet or Saintpaulia. This plant belongs to the genus gesneric. A huge variety allows you to choose varieties suitable for the size of the outlet, the color of the buds, the shade of the leaves. Among all varieties, one of the simplest and at the same time unusual is the Carousel violet, bred by E. Lebetskoy.

The variety is characterized by simple white stars with red fingers extending from the center to the periphery. The socket is mottled, white-green, standard size (diameter 24-26 cm). With age, variegation becomes brighter.

In violet Carousel, when opened, the flowers are painted completely red. As it blooms, unpainted areas appear.

When the plant is kept in a cool room, a white hue prevails on the flowers, and red in the warmth. For the first time after the bud has opened, the red tint is very bright, saturated. However, it gradually fades, becomes paler.

Lighting

Violet Carousel belongs to the heat and light-loving varieties. In order for a plant to grow quickly and bloom profusely, it needs a lot of light. However, the plant does not like direct sunlight, but diffused light is to its liking.

Plants should not be placed on the southern windows, as direct sunlight can cause burns. If there is no other place, then when placed on the south window, shading is necessary.

The ideal option is to plant violets in the kitchen: in this room there is high humidity and a lot of light. In the kitchen, the holy nations grow rapidly and bloom profusely. If there is not enough light, then the violets are pulled out, their shape of the outlet is disturbed.

For successful cultivation of violets, it is recommended to place plants in the northern windows in the summer. They feel quite comfortable on them, pleasing the eye with a beautiful rosette and plentiful flowering.

Priming

Previously, there were industrial varieties that were quite successfully grown in ordinary soil from the garden. With the advent of new species, plants have become more capricious and demanding on the soil. A variety of soil has been developed for them. They are light, the water in them does not stagnate and flows well.

For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use prepared soils. Since they contain peat, it is better to add vermiculite. He will give the soil looseness, and will also remove excess moisture from the pot, and then gradually return it.

Pot selection

As can be seen in the photo, violet Carousel is a standard species. Small pots are required for it, with a diameter of no more than 10-12 cm. For violets, the root system is compact, taking up little space in the pot. Therefore, for them there is no need to purchase large pots. In them, the plant will grow for a long time and will not bloom soon.

Too small pots with a diameter of 5-6 cm are ideal for growing children of violets, but adult plants will be crowded in them and they will not be able to develop normally in such mini-containers.

Ideally, when choosing a pot, it is recommended to use the following formula: the diameter of the pot should be three times smaller than the size of the outlet. The carousel is about 25 cm in diameter, which means the pot is selected for it about 8-10 cm.

Watering

Watering plants is recommended as the top layer dries. Do not overdry the flower as well as overmoisten. In the former case, the plant dries quickly, and in the latter, it rots. However, when growing violets, it is better to undersaturated than to transfuse.

Plants must be watered with warm, settled water. Drops should not be allowed to enter the center of the outlet.

Sometimes, plants are washed to remove dust from the leaves. This procedure is carried out approximately once a month. Each leaf is washed separately under a stream of warm water. In this case, the pot should be tilted so that water does not accumulate in the center of the outlet and does not erode the soil. After the shower, the senpolia is dried in a warm place and only after drying they are returned to the windowsill. When grown on shelves, plants are immediately put in place.

Temperature

All varieties of violets like a temperature of 20-23 degrees. Under such conditions, the plant will grow rapidly and delight in abundant flowering for a long time.

In order for a plant to develop and grow better, it needs to provide a small temperature difference of 1-3 degrees between night and day temperatures.

For children who have recently separated from the mother's sheet, a temperature of 23-25 degrees is recommended.

When grown, the plant easily tolerates a decrease in temperature to ten degrees, but an increase to thirty is poorly tolerated. This is evidenced by poor flowering, small flowers, deformed rosettes.

Breeding

Violet LE-Carousel is easily propagated by leaves and cuttings, peduncles. There are several ways to re-root a plant: put a leaf or a stalk in water or immediately plant the material in the ground. In the latter case, it is necessary to put a container with the plant in the greenhouse.

Peduncle propagation is applied to chimeras. Other varieties are rarely propagated by these methods.

Most often, violets are propagated by leaves. To do this, take a healthy leaf from the second row from the bottom. Petiole is cut at an angle of 45 degrees. The length should be no more than three centimeters. The prepared leaf can be put into water by adding a tablet of activated carbon (prevents decay).

After two to four weeks, roots form on the leaf. Once they have reached a centimeter length, they are planted in the ground to a depth of not more than one and a half centimeters and covered with a bag. About a month later, babies appear. As soon as they have two real leaves, they are seated in separate containers. It is better to use disposable cups for this, with a volume of not more than 100 grams.

Rejuvenation of the outlet

Rejuvenation of outlets is carried out annually. In the photo, Carousel violet looks beautiful. To get such a plant, you need to transplant the violet every year, updating it. To do this, remove the lower leaves. All wounds must be sprinkled with activated charcoal. Then, with a sharp knife or blade, the roots of the plants are cut at an angle of 45 degrees below the level of the lower row of leaves. Then the outlet is planted in the ground and put in a greenhouse. About a month later, she will grow new roots, new leaves, peduncles will begin to grow.
