Modest Magic Flowers: Reseda

Some flowers are bred, reseda, for example, because of their magnificent aroma, as well as as a honey plant. In appearance they are inconspicuous, small flowers are collected in inflorescences, but despite this, most bouquets are made with the addition of this plant and this, again, is due to the magnificent aroma that it possesses.

These flowers do not tolerate enough transplantation. Reseda in that case will take root well if certain conditions are met. Planting is done in the ground, but taking into account that the seedlings are not damaged by frost. This applies to both the spring and autumn periods of transplantation of a plant such as Reseda. A flower is planted in the ground in early May, flowering should be expected by the end of July.

If the flower is planted in the form of ready seedlings, then flowering begins in early June and continues until the onset of the first frost.

To get seeds, gardeners, when frost sets in, cover the plant at night with covering material (film, agril). As a rule, after the onset of the first cold weather, warm weather comes again, at this time the seeds ripen and in the future they are able to give a fairly good crop.

About the plant

In nature, there is an annual, biennial and perennial plant. All species are united, first of all, by the presence of very fragrant small flowers. When breeding, in the vast majority of cases, an annual plant variety is used. It reaches a height of 30 centimeters, each of the stems is a pyramidal inflorescence.

Growing conditions

Lime-rich soils and open sunny places are ideal conditions for these flowers to grow. Reseda will delight the eye with the appearance of a large number of buds. Especially if the soil is sufficiently fertilized with humus and well moistened.

In group plantings, these flowers are often used quite often. Reseda, photos of which can be seen in this article, combined with brightly flowering plants and in mixborders in the foreground gives the composition a special charm. Open ground is not the only option for growing a plant, it is also possible to grow in containers and pots.

Pests

Often, the green part of the plant is damaged by caterpillars of the butterfly whites, other pests are not interested in them.

Common varieties

As already mentioned, such flowers (scented scented in particular) are quite common. The most popular varieties of this type are:

• "Gabriel", possessing reddish inflorescences of a reddish hue;

• "Goliath", characterized by bright red colors ;

• "Ruby" with pinkish-copper dense inflorescences.

Of course, the cultivation of all types of plants by flower growers is not practiced, only those species that have any difference from the ordinary species, for example, have a special color, are popular. This is due to the fact that the rezeda is bred for decorative purposes - to design flower beds or bouquets. However, wild reseda can be found in nature quite often, and it is very easy to find it - a magnificent aroma will indicate its location.
