Scheffler. Home care, transplantation and reproduction

One of the most beautiful and decorative indoor plants is sheflera. Home care does not cause much difficulty, so the flower is suitable for growing even by inexperienced gardeners. It will be an excellent decoration for both offices and modern apartments. Relative unpretentiousness and impeccable appearance put the shefler on a par with ficus, dracaena, yucca and other beautiful tall flowers.

shefler home care
A houseplant can take the form of a shrub or tree, growing up to 2.5 m high. There is a purely green and variegated shefler. Home care for the first is more simple. But to keep the diversity of leaves is much more difficult, but such a plant is more attractive and interesting in appearance. The air temperature can vary between 18-25 ยฐ C, the draft is unacceptable, but if the room has air conditioning, it will only benefit such a flower as a shefler.

Home care involves an increase in temperature in the summer and a decrease in the winter, but insignificant. As practice has shown, the plant feels great in air-conditioned rooms, but it should not fall under the stream of cold air. Sheffler grows best on the eastern and western windows, there she is quite enough light, she is not concerned about direct sunlight. Variegated varieties need brighter lighting, in the shade they can lose their natural color. But plants with completely green leaves feel good even at a distance from the light source.

shefler leaves fall
Sheffler reacts very seriously to air humidity. Home care involves daily spraying of leaves, if possible, twice a day. This is especially important in the winter, because heaters make the air excessively dry, which is unacceptable for sheflers. Water the flower very carefully and only with settled water. Excessive watering is dangerous for a plant such as sheflera. Leaves fall both with waterlogging and with the drying of an earthen coma, therefore it is important to adhere to the middle ground. Watering the flower is necessary when the top layer of the earth dries, keeping the soil constantly moist. In order not to worry and not constantly check the soil, you can put wet coarse sand or expanded clay in the pallet.

It is best to transplant the plant in spring, for adults it is possible to change the pot once every three years. Sheflera is growing quite quickly, so she constantly needs a capacity with a large volume. As a soil, you can take a mixture of greenhouse and compost soil, coarse sand and peat. At the bottom of the pot must definitely put drainage. A shefler houseplant is propagated by cuttings and seeds. The first method is easier, you just need to cut the semi-lignified stems, hold them for 6 hours in a heteroauxin solution and plant them in a mixture of sand and peat. In the second case, there is much more work, and the result will have to wait longer. Proper care of a sheflera will allow you to admire this plant for many years. Constant spraying and periodic dressing will make the houseplant beautiful, shiny and tall.
