How to distinguish a rose from a rose?
This, of course, is a pun, but with a hidden meaning: over the thousand-year history of cultivation, the rose has undergone so many crosses, improvements and changes that today it is sometimes difficult to distinguish one species from another. So, not every amateur is able to answer what a climbing rose looks like , but how does it look like a bush or park, and even more so - a floribunda or grandiflora. Notice these are not exotic variety names,
and species definitions. To distinguish bush roses (photo on the right) from, say, park roses, some knowledge and experience are needed. And all because, in principle, they do not differ very much. Without regret, you need to remove the fruitless shoots, dried and wilted stems, as well as faded peduncles. Fresh air and light are what bush roses want all the time. They plant a rose in early spring before the buds swell, but only after frost. Before lowering the sapling into the hole, the roots need to be dipped in a liquid solution of clay to protect against aggressive environments and quick survival. The roots need to be shortened by secateurs to 30-35 cm. The stems should also be trimmed before planting so that 4-5 strong buds remain on each branch. No need to be afraid of pruning - from sleeping buds shoots will quickly go and reach the desired length, and this will be year after year. It is best to leave on the stem those shoots that gave not lateral, but root buds - they will be the strongest and tallest. If you select the varieties correctly, you can ensure that from the very beginning of summer until the first frost, bush roses bloom on the site.
