The sign "Speed Limit" must be known to every person who wants to become a driver. In general, this topic is very important. Anyone who dreams of driving a car should learn it. After all, it is not without reason that there are traffic rules. Traffic signs that prescribe the observance of a certain speed limit are common on the roads, so you should learn them. However, first things first.
What you need to learn
The first thing to remember is that the maximum permitted speed in the Russian Federation is 130 kilometers per hour. But not everywhere. This maximum is only valid on motorways. And these sections of the road themselves are very rare. And they definitely have a pointer marked "130 km / h."
On country roads, you can ride at a maximum speed of 90 km / h. Exceed, of course, is not desirable. This makes clear the road signs with comments. Within the city, it is allowed to move at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. And this is the maximum. However, it is not enough to know only these nuances. In fact, there are many more important points, and it’s worth discussing them in more detail.
Maximum
3.24 is the first and most important sign. The speed limit, and maximum, is what he prescribes. And this pointer, for sure, is familiar to everyone. Even those people who were not going to get rights. It is round, has a white background and a red "edging." It categorically prohibits moving at a speed exceeding the number indicated on it. Is it written 50? Therefore, it is impossible for the speedometer needle to rise above the 50 km / h mark.
But there is one interesting moment, everyone should know about it. Sometimes on country roads put a pointer prescribing a maximum speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour. Although usually the number is thirty. At such moments, drivers who pass by simply do not have time to slow down and, so to speak, slow down. And this is used by many traffic police officers, who, as a rule, are on duty there.
In fact, the situation is ambiguous. Why? And because on country roads there should not be signs 3.24 and especially with the mark "30 km / h". This can be done, but subject to certain conditions. And they consist in the fact that in front of this sign at a distance of 150 meters there must be a sign of 70 km / h, and then - 50 km / h.
End of Limitations
The sign "Speed limit", like all others, cannot be valid throughout the entire road. Naturally, there is a pointer to "cancel". It is known as 3.25. And this pointer declares the end of the constraint. It is round, in a black frame, on a white background there is a number crossed out by several lines.
Still sometimes they put other pointers. This is permitted by traffic rules. Road signs are numerous, and sometimes, to indicate the zone of any restrictions (including the maximum speed limit), they use the sign known by code 3.31 - a white circle in a black border, which is crossed out by several thin lines.
There is also the so-called addition to speed limits. Usually it is a plate 8.2.1., Defining the coverage area. It shows the length and arrows. If, for example, there is a sign “maximum speed of 50 km / h” and a plate under it that shows the number 200, then this means that for two hundred meters the driver should not exceed 50 km / h. After the distance has been traveled, you can return to normal speed mode.
Hazardous Area
It is logical to assume that the sign "Speed Limit" is placed where the dangerous section begins. On such, as you know, you need to move with extreme caution. And the dangers can be of any nature.
But how to determine the beginning and end of such a site? Visually. If it is indicated that for three kilometers it is necessary to move at a speed of 40 km / h and the driver sees that pits, potholes meet on his way, the road is broken, then you need to focus on your feelings. As soon as he feels that the roadway has become level again, you can already return to normal speed mode.
And there are such devices - odometers. This is a car device that measures the mileage and distance traveled by a car. After the zone of operation of the sign "Speed Limit" has begun, it is worth taking a look at the odometer and calculating the readings that should be displayed on it at the end of the dangerous section.
Crossroads and settlements
It is worth knowing that the range of the sign "Speed Limit" is determined not only by plates on which there are indications of meters and kilometers. Also, the signpost, known as numbering 3.24, expires after the driver enters the intersection. However, it is worth remembering that the exit from any adjacent territory or from an intersection (with forest or field roads) is not considered as such. And since such places are not equated with intersections, then the action of the signs is not canceled.
And finally, settlements. The action of the pointer 3.24 can be canceled by signs 5.23.2 and 5.23.1. This is the beginning of the village. Signs look like oblong rectangular plates, a white background and a black border. Either the name of the city in black can be written in them, or the silhouette of the village can be drawn.
Another cancellation is given by signs 5.24.1 and 5.24.2. This is the end of the village. They look exactly the same as the previous two, only they are also crossed out by a red thick line. There is also a 5.25 pointer. Blue background, white letters, crossed out by a red line - this is also the end of the village. Accordingly, it is not separated from the group of road signs that cancel a certain speed limit.
And the last pointer is 5.25. This is the beginning of the village. It does not cancel anything, on the contrary, calls to move at a maximum speed of 60 km / h. It looks like this: a blue background, white letters that spell the name of the city.
What is recommended
Everyone knows that groups of road signs are numerous. So, in addition to prohibiting, there are also recommended ones. These include pointer 6.2. This is the "Recommended Speed" sign. That is, one that should be observed on a particular road section. The coverage area also lasts until the first intersection.
The shape of such signs is square, with rounded corners. It is characterized by a blue background and white numbers. It should be noted that these signs do not oblige motorists to anything. To move with the indicated speed or not is up to the driver directly. But still, the pointer is set there for a reason, so you should think about it.
Allowable Minimum
It may seem strange to many, but there are signs that require compliance with not only the declared maximum, but also the minimum. They are round and blue, with white numbers inside. And drivers are allowed to move either at the declared speed or at a higher speed. That is, if the sign shows the number "60", then you need to go at least 60 km / h, but not less.
And the end of the zone in which this pointer operates is usually indicated by 4.7. The same round blue sign with a white number, only crossed out by a red line. This means that the declared minimum is canceled and can be ignored.
It is interesting that if there is a sign 4.6 on the road section (that is, a minimum speed indicator), then stopping the car at the traffic police service will fail, only if the driver has violated the rules.
Speeding fines
The speed limit on the bridge, roads, highways is indicated for a reason. And if you break the rules, you can earn a fine. So, for example, for speeding 20-40 kilometers per hour (but not more!) You will have to pay 500 rubles. Now, as you know, if a motorist pays in the near future, then he is given a discount of 50%.
If the motorist moved at a speed of 60-80 km / h above the norm, then you will have to pay 2000-2500 rubles. Or they may be deprived of a driver’s license for 4-6 months. It depends on the decision of the traffic police. If the case is brought to court, then it can be challenged, as violators often do, if it is easier for them to pay the indicated amount than to remain without rights.
If the excess was more than 80 km / h, then you will have to say goodbye to either five thousand, or with rights for six months. But when a person violates this requirement repeatedly, then he can be deprived of the opportunity to manage the vehicle for a year.
Other fines
Do not think that only speeding can be fined. For too slow movement, punishment also applies. If the marking or sign requires you to move at the indicated minimum speed, but the driver has ignored this, a fine of 500 rubles is due. But this violation is not punished as seriously as in the previous described situation.
It should be more focused on the roads, it is not for nothing that they already make yellow signs of speed limits, which additionally attract attention.
It is not necessary to exceed the speed to astronomical indicators, because the point is not even a fine, but that the car is a means of transportation of increased danger.
