An overhead crane is one of the load-gripping mechanisms, which is located on a suspended trolley and moves using an adjustable metal bridge. This article will tell you about the installation of crane beams, their diagrams and prices.
Mounting Features
Suspended crane beams have different types of designs. Each design has its own purpose. For example, a beam with a built-in hook is designed to lift general loads. There are also specialized ones - this is with a magnet and a grab. This installation of crane beams requires more time than it takes for others.
The design of beams is divided into several types:
- single beam;
- double girder;
- hanging;
- supporting.
There are also two options for controlling the crane. If the control is manual, then on the horizontal surface of a separate section of the structure there is a special cabin for the crane operator. Another option is an electrical control system. There is no cabin on the structure, and control takes place directly near the cargo using the control panel.
The installation of crane beams, meaning bridge, is a rather complicated process, and in order to install such a mechanism, you need to have knowledge not only in its installation, but also to understand its structure. To do this, there is a special team that can install such structures not only in the premises of the enterprise, but also on the street.

The crane beam mounting scheme includes upper and I-beams, ropes, blocks, central racks and various necessary ceilings.
In order to raise bridge cranes in conjunction with mounting masts or beams, one of three options can be used.
The first and most convenient option is to first dismantle the crane beam on one of the spans, and then, if the installation is being carried out at the enterprise under construction, do not install crane crane ground tracks when lifting the crane.
The second option is to rotate the bridge on a horizontal surface at an angle, then raise the crane tracks by a couple of centimeters and turn them in the opposite position. To turn the crane, you can use the chain hoist.
The last option is to put the crane bridge in an inclined position. The angle of this inclination should correspond to the size of the crane beam. That is, the crane must move between the beam. This option will be acceptable only if the height of the roof of the workshop will be significantly higher than the bridge, and if the latter will be in an inclined position.
Crane mounting prices
The following factors influence the final installation price of crane beams:
- type of mechanism (one-frame, two-frame, suspended or basic);
- its maximum load capacity (from 3 t and above 20 t);
- span of the load-lifting mechanism.
Some funding is also needed for the examination of the soil base, on which the entire structure will be placed together with the workshop. It is necessary to develop design drawings and have technical maps available.
After the crane bridge is fully installed, a lot of time and money are required for a complete technical inspection. And after that you can start working with a crane.
