Creating a blank for a headband
Before you start thinking about how to make a flower from a fabric from an old T-shirt, prepare the material from which you will create your little masterpieces: wash and dry old T-shirts or other things from stretch fabric. Cut the strips of knitwear in the direction shown in the figure. If the strips are thin enough, then you can get blanks resembling cords. They can easily make an original jewelry that looks like a necklace. Cords of various lengths and differing in tone look beautiful. Gather them to your taste and attach flowers from fabric and ribbons at the junction - in this unusual necklace you will not go unnoticed.
For a headband, cut a wider tape. Its length should be approximately 5 cm less than the circumference of the head. This is necessary so that the elastic bandage fits tightly during wear. There is no need to process the edges of the tape - the knitwear will curl around the edges a little and form a beautiful roller on both sides. Connect the ends of the dressing with a simple seam on a machine or manually. A flower will be placed at the seam site, which will close the junction of the dressing.
If you like weaving, then try to weave the base for a headband from knitted cords. The tape can be three or more, as shown in the photo. Wrap the junction with a piece of fabric so that the bandage has a neat appearance, and decorate with a flower.
How to make a flower from fabric?
Please note that there are several options for creating a flower from knitted material.
Option 1: Some people like this method, because making a flower from a fabric is so simple, and it looks very stylish. This technique is reminiscent of folding a knitted strip in the form of a “donut” with subsequent formation of the type of rose. The turns are fastened in the course of folding with simple stitches (use threads in tone to make the stitches invisible).
Option 2: The pattern of the flower from the fabric is also not complicated, but requires cutting blanks. Every detail of the future flower is cut out according to the pattern. Fold the jersey flap in half and cut an element resembling the letter “B”. When unfolded, the blank will look like a butterfly. The number of fragments depends on whether you want a lush flower or not too voluminous. Having learned how to make a flower out of fabric, you can easily perform it using rags from t-shirts of various shades.
Option 3: You can create your own variations of fantasy flowers or stylized as real ones (for example, poppies). Decorate the middle of the decoration with a bead or button.
