Novosibirsk is a million-plus city located on both banks of the Ob River. The region is located on the West Siberian Plain, the current territory of which, many millions of years ago, was the bottom of the sea. Scientists claim that dinosaurs also lived here, but their remains lie too deep underground, because of this, their study is impossible.
The plant world is not much different from the European one. Walking through the parks and forests, you can meet cedar, pine, aspen, mountain ash. There are many different marsh, forest and meadow plants, an abundance of mosses and ferns, lingonberries and cranberries. In the forests near the Ob River, berries, mushrooms and medicinal plants are harvested. To see all this with your own eyes, it is enough to visit the Sosnovy Bor park (Uchitelskaya St., 49).
The best natural attractions of Novosibirsk
- Novosibirsk Zoo is located on Timiryazev Street. One of the most suitable vacation spots for the whole family, because there is a lake, many cafes and a clean area.
- Park of culture and rest "Zaeltsovsky". You can come here every day at any time of the year. In summer, vacationers ride roller skates or bicycles (it is possible to rent), book horseback riding or simply walk along the alley. For children, a playground is equipped, adolescents will be interested in shooting at the shooting range. There are many summer cafes and barbecue facilities. In winter, an ice rink is open and ski slopes are equipped.
- Central Park is the oldest in Novosibirsk. Located in the city center, covers an area of just over 10 hectares. You can get to it by metro, reaching the station "Ploshchad Lenina". At the beginning of the twentieth century there was a cemetery. It was closed and a park was built on this site. In the early years, the recreation area was called the "Graveyard Garden". In the 1950s, a planetarium and the Musical Comedy Theater were built on its territory .
- Narymsky square is located near the circus and the Ascension Cathedral.
- The Central Siberian Botanical Garden covers an area of 10 km² and is considered a research organization. Visitors can stroll through the greenhouse, look into the greenhouses, enjoy the river and the pond. The garden is home to many species of birds: black kite, buzzard, sparrow hawk, goshawk, owl, owl and others. You can also meet squirrel, chipmunk, hare, affection, beaver, roe deer and elk.
- Birch grove is located in the Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk. The park was opened in 1963 on the site of an old church cemetery. On the territory of the recreation zone there are attractions and rental points of sports equipment, there is a palace of culture, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a zoo and two stages. Among the trees, birch is most common, but maple, mountain ash, spruce, pine and several types of bushes are found.
- A new square at the intersection of Sovetskaya Street and Ordzhonikidze Street was opened recently, but has already become a favorite place for citizens. Here, residents of a big city can take a breath and plunge into relaxation for a few minutes. Located in the center of Novosibirsk.

The park was founded 41 years ago. It is large enough, covers an area of almost 100 hectares.

The Horde River flows through the forest and forms beautiful landscapes. On the territory of the huge park there are many different attractions, there are as many as two sports complexes, an equestrian club, a hotel, a dispensary, a bicycle park, a stage and an ice rink.
Festivals, festivals, sporting events and even dance evenings for the elderly are held here.
"Forest lyre"
Every summer in Novosibirsk, the Sosnovy Bor Park hosts the Forest Lyre festival. For 12 years, he has been collecting many amateur groups on stage. Craftsmen come from all over the region. The latter is equipped with spectator stands, they are designed for 3000 people. Underneath are locker rooms, a warm-up room, coaching rooms, a buffet. In winter, the stadium is equipped with a ski run and an ice rink.

How to get there
In Novosibirsk, tram number 14 will take you to Sosnovy Bor Park. He begins his route from the Michurin Garden.
If you get from the bus station, then by tram number 13 you need to get to "Michurintsev Garden", and then transfer to tram number 14 and go to the final stop.
If you arrived at the railway station, it is better to take the subway and get to the Zolotaya Niva station, then walk 1 km to the Michurintsev Garden (or take the minibus), transfer to tram number 14 and go to the final stop.

Sosnovy Bor Park cannot be called the main tourist destination of Novosibirsk, but if you happen to come to this city and stay in the Kalinin district, then please visit it.
We said about the main attractions of this park, but there is also something that tourists and vacationers themselves noted.
Walking along the paths, you can see thickets of wild raspberries. And the Siberian flower twinkle is so attractive that it’s a sin not to take a photo. Sosnovy Bor Park in Novosibirsk delights with its virgin nature. It looks more like a forest with entertaining islets. A great way to familiarize children with the nature of their native land without leaving the city.
Reviews about the Sosnovy Bor park in Novosibirsk are full of variety. Someone really likes authentic paths among trees and thickets, someone is indignant, because in rainy weather they turn into dirt. Some vacationers are delighted that you can rent a gazebo and sit in a company with barbecue, but someone is very upset by this fact. An abundance of children's attractions pleases some parents, while others complain about their “Soviet” age.
The indisputable advantage of Sosnovy Bor is that in a noisy metropolis you can find an island of calm and enjoy nature and birdsong.
The area in Novosibirsk, where the Sosnovy Bor park is located, is strewn with various forest berries, mushrooms and flowers. There is incredibly clean air - the result of an abundance of vegetation.
But there are also not very flattering reviews of tourists about the Sosnovy Bor park in Novosibirsk. They complain about the garbage, which is rarely taken out, so it does not fit in the tanks and falling out creates whole heaps of waste. This, of course, spoils the landscape, aroma and impression of the place of rest in general.
