A skirt is one of the most common and popular elements of women's wardrobe. Warm, light, knitted, sewn, openwork, dense - any only emphasizes femininity and elegance.

Plain skirt
The simplest pencil skirt is knitted with English rubber. To get started, you need to take measurements - waist circumference, hip circumference, product length. The last parameter is the length that the skirt should be. For non-standard figures, this indicator is measured both in front and behind.
A mandatory step is the calculation of the density of knitting and the manufacture of a test sample. To do this, it is necessary to knit a flap 10 by 10 cm, wash it, dry and heat-treat (steam). After the sample has dried, a ruler measures the number of loops, which is included in 1 cm.
For example, in 1 cm 2.5 loops. The waist circumference is 72 cm. In order for the skirt to fit the figure on the waist, you need to dial 72 x 2.5 = 180 loops. This number of loops will fit the product clearly on the waist; the skirt will not be too wide or narrow.
Knitting description
The first 5 cm are knitted with an elastic band 2 x 2 (2 loops - front, 2 - wrong). Wrong row - as loops look.
After 5 cm, they begin to knit with an elastic band 1 x 1. They are knitted evenly, without additions or decreases to the thigh line. Then you need to check how the skirt will look on the hips. If the difference between the waist and hips is very large (more than 20 cm), then several increases are necessary. If additions are not made, then the loops can stretch too much and the product will visually give more volume to the hips. Additions must be made at a uniform distance from each other.
After the additions are made, they knit exactly about 20 cm. The product must be periodically tried on the model (if possible). After knitting 20 cm, make reductions. This is necessary so that in the knee area (if the skirt is of such length) there is no large canvas around the leg and the “pike tail” effect is not created when the canvas is wrapped and puffed from the back of the knee.
Decreases are also made evenly.
Depending on the wishes, the skirt can be knitted with a 2 x 2, 3 x 3 elastic band or even a garter or hosiery knit.
