BMW i1
BMW electric cars are opened by the youngest model - i1. This car has not yet gone into mass production, but there is information that it should compete with Smart Fortwo from the American concern.
BMW i2
There are currently only rumors about this model. After the appearance of the rendered images of a new concept from the Bavarians on the Internet, experts concluded that we have before us a model of the future production BMW i2. Externally, the car has a huge resemblance to the older model i8. The pictures show that the car has a two-door coupe, so it should occupy a niche between the i1 and the i3 minivan.
BMW i3
The first electric power car. It is a compact urban minivan. The car body is made entirely of aluminum and carbon. Its mass is not more than 1300 kg. The electric motor has a power of 170 horsepower and a power reserve of one charge up to 160 kilometers. The car is perfect for urban conditions, but not for long journeys due to the small power reserve. Official sales of i3 began in 2013. Almost immediately after the start of sales, the company announced a new version - i3 Coupe. This car is a hybrid of a minivan and a sports car. The new modification is not currently included in the series.
BMW i4 and i5
BMW electric cars plan to occupy almost every class in the modern automotive market. This is evidenced by their plans for the release of a sports coupe called i4. Most likely, the prototype will be the coupe of the 4th series of BMW.
I5 - a full-size family sedan, which will be equipped with two versions of electric motors. The direct competitor of this model is the brainchild of Tesla - Model X.
BMW i6
This car should occupy the niche of full-size crossovers in the electric car market. Not earlier than 2020 - that's what they say about the date when a new electric car comes out. BMW X6 will be the prototype for the creation of a new SUV.
BMW i8
The most expensive and most impressive car of the entire range of electric vehicles is the i8 sports car. The car entered mass production in 2014. It is a hybrid. It has 4 electric motors per wheel with a total capacity of 150 horsepower. In addition, the coupe accelerates with the help of a gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 170 horsepower. The BMW i8 electric roadster cars went on sale a few months after the main model was shown.
