A plot is not a plot!

What should be called the case of narration from the side of fact, chronology, its severity in the laws of action and in the development of displayed events, their nonrandomness?

the plot is
The plot is first of all a literary tradition of building works. Initially, the term itself denoted a genre, translated as "fairy tale", "fable", then grew into the basis of a literary text.

The plot in the Russian tradition

The tradition of the plot, its development began with folklore, myths. In Russian literature, most often this term refers to the plot. The plot - composition, structure - was studied by Russian formalist literary scholars and for many years both of these concepts were identified. They did not take into account the dynamics of the figurative reflection of life. However, the writer first of all creates the basis - the actual events in the work, carefully selecting various phenomena (fiction or reality - not so important) that the plot will only treat as the main narrative topic. The plot is just a solution to the problem that the plot presents. This is not raw material, it is an indestructible foundation created by tradition. Therefore, it is not quite fair to divide the works into plot and plot based on the number of turns of plot construction.

The plot in historical development

History in each of its periods created its own plot, it is an indisputable fact. They differ mythological, utopian, romantic, fairy-tale, realistic and any other plot. Their topics are diverse and inexhaustible. And here comes the specific features of the storylines. However, the plot is not something that can arbitrarily change and grow in forms, classification and accounting are present here inseparably, since it refers to universal value, an extra-national treasure of art. Many plots live simultaneously in all lands, slightly changing due to folklore, but keeping the main skeleton safe and sound. For example, the tale of Cinderella has more than three hundred and fifty national options.

The main types of plot

Mythological fables, personifying the relationship of day and night, that is, darkness and light, winter, spring, summer and autumn, that is, heat and cold, the collision of the indomitable forces of nature and the sophistication of the human mind. The fabulous plot consists in endowing human and flora with fauna , from which certain conflicts arise, and these archetypes will remain alive forever : the "impudent red face" - a sly fox, a dumb monkey, a dumb donkey, etc. Fairy tales, on the contrary, expand human nature to merge with space and the animal world, which also gives rise to features and patterns of collisions involving ghouls, mermaids and wolf-dwellers.

Household plot

Based on local customs, the plot (an example of the most eloquent - " Gogol's Dead Souls" ), called household, has an ancient origin. The purchase of dead souls and the consequences of this action are much closer to our times, although they are also immeasurably far from understanding the veracity of such collisions. However, it’s difficult to come up with a more witty plot, especially considering that trafficking in human beings at that time was a completely natural phenomenon, absolutely prosaic and interesting to no one from the point of view of literature. The homeland of the plot novel was by no means Russia. Dickens, Wood, Collins, Elliot grew up and established themselves on the purely English line of the household plot - inheritance rights. And Conan Doyle drew a detective subspecies of her own, immortalizing his Sherlock Holmes.
