"GTA Online" is the most popular multiplayer game to date. Despite the fact that the project came out a few years ago, licensed copies of GTA 5 are still being bought like hotcakes. However, for so many years after the release, the creators have not solved all the problems. And if everything is in order with a single game, then the multiplayer mode suffers from cheaters, problems with servers and constant lags. Let’s figure out why it is impossible to communicate with Rockstar servers, what reasons this error may have and how to fix it.
Types of Connectivity Issues
All faults can be divided into two categories - computer problems and problems with the Rockstar servers themselves. In the first case, you can fix the errors yourself and fix the problems, after which you can still launch the GTA 5 online mode and enjoy the gameplay with your friends. But in the second case, the player is not able to do anything. The crash of Rockstar servers even after so many years is a common occurrence that no longer surprises players. Troubleshoot PC
Be sure to check your internet connection first. Without it, you won’t be able to access the GTA 5 online mode, which means that you won’t be able to connect to the servers either.
If the Internet connection is stable, then we move on to other problems, because of which it is impossible to establish a connection with the Rockstar servers. The first of these is errors in game files, in particular, in the Social Club service. If you are using a licensed version of the game from the Steam store, then follow these steps: open the game library and find "GTA 5" in it, go to "Properties" and to "Local files". In the selected section, click on "Check the integrity of the game files." After the scan is completed, the service downloads the missing files for both GTA 5 and the Social Club, after which you can try reconnecting to the servers.
There is another way to solve the problem by changing the firewall settings. If after all the methods described in the article it’s still impossible for you to communicate with the Rockstar servers, then take advantage of the firewall change.
Open the firewall settings through the control panel. Open the "Advanced Settings" item and go to the "Rules for Incoming Connections". Now click on "Create Rule" - "For Port". Select TCP and allow the connection. Enter a name for the created permission and click Finish. Next, you need to create another permission, only the TCP protocol needs to be replaced with UPD.
Now you need to find all the rules with the name GTA V. Click on it and select "Protocols and Ports". Next, check the "All ports". Perform this operation with all permissions related to the game. Save the changes and try to start the game again after restarting the computer.
Server issues
GTA V Online players often complain about server instability and the difficulty of connecting to them. Unfortunately, in this case you cannot influence the solution of the problem. Server crashes often occur due to preventive maintenance or high loads, which are associated with the great popularity of online (for example, after the release of global updates).
