On the slope of the mountain are the ruins of the Greek city of Panticapaeum, an eternal flame burns in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War.

Modern Kerch is, above all, an industrial city. Shipbuilding, fish canning and metallurgical plants, an iron ore enterprise, a sewing plant, a large port - all this forms the basis of the Kerch economy. A domestic waste recycling plant and a cement plant are under construction, and a liquefied gas terminal has recently been created.

How to get to Kerch from Krasnodar?

You can get from Krasnodar to Kerch by intercity bus or car. While there is no bridge, part of the journey will have to be done by ferry. The ferry to Kerch follows from the port "Caucasus", which is located in the Temryuk region, in the village of Kosa Chushka.

You can get to the ferry crossing via the A-290 highway. Near the village Ilyich there are ticket offices and the so-called "sedimentation tank" for those who travel by their own car. It is here that ferry tickets are purchased and a queue of cars is formed.

Buses go further, and their passengers buy tickets directly near the ferry.

The Kerch-Caucasus ferry crosses the Kerch Strait in half an hour, arriving in the village. Zhukovka (Kerch), where the passenger port is located.

From Kerch, on the E-97 highway, transport goes further along the Crimean peninsula.

How to get to Kerch from Simferopol?

If you happened to arrive in Crimea by plane, then from Simferopol, where the airport is located, you can take a bus to Kerch. The distance between cities is small - only 214 km.

From the airport you will need to get to the Central bus station of Simferopol (Kievskaya St., 4), from where buses to Kerch leave at half an hour intervals. The first flight leaves at 04:55, the last at 19:50. Ticket prices start at 460 rubles.

The construction of the modern Tavrida highway, which will pass through Kerch, Feodosia, Simferopol and will end in Sevastopol, is nearing completion. With the end of a grandiose construction time on the road from Simferopol to Kerch will be reduced to 2 hours.
