The flag of Honduras currently used is rectangular in shape with a rather rare aspect ratio of two to one. The cloth is divided horizontally into three strips. They are the same in size. Stripes of blue color are located above and below, and in the center is white. In the middle are five stars with five rays. They form a kind of rectangle, one in its center.
Color meaning

Character Appearance
The country declared independence in 1821. Before that, it was a Spanish colony. Having received the coveted sovereignty, Honduras began to use the banner, which diagonally from left to right and from top to bottom covered stripes of white, green and red. In the center was a coat of arms. There was a green star on the white strip, white on the red, and red on the green. In 1823, the standard was changed to a version very similar to the modern one. The difference was that the emblem was located in the center. In 1839 it was removed and the color of the extreme stripes changed a little - it became more saturated. It was this flag that the inhabitants of Honduras used until 1866. After that, five blue stars were placed in the center, folding in a rectangle, and the fields at the edges again returned a lighter blue hue. In this embodiment, the state flag is used today. In 1898, the stars were changed to gold, but in 1949 they were again made white. Since then, the banner has not changed at all.
