Moscow as a historical and cultural center offers its residents and guests a number of exhibitions where everyone will find something based on personal interests. A huge number of pavilions of various subjects contains VDNH. Pavilion āCosmosā is especially interesting to all lovers of the starry sky.
Volume increase
This is now "Cosmos" talks about a particular industry. But few people know what kind of transformation he underwent. In the distant 30s of the last century, a pavilion was developed, which should be decorated with a decorative tower. For many, mechanization seemed inconvenient from the practical side, because it could not accommodate in the right amount all the tractors and combines represented by the agricultural sector.
In the mid-50s, the exposition was supplemented several times by samples of the automotive and aviation industries. All of them were conveniently located on the allotted territory of VDNH. The Pavilion āCosmosā was replaced by āEngineeringā, which included various types of equipment, machinery, machine tools, automatic lines. Over the decades, expositions have grown so much that there isnāt enough space for the whole place.
Necessary changes
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution required long-awaited changes. Space exploration has become an excellent example of the achievements of the Soviet state. VDNH (the Pavilion āCosmosā in the first place) contained models of artificial satellites, showing a rich history of the development of rocket and space technology, as well as other interesting things. Such, for example, was the astronautās life support system, a wide range of technical equipment used in flight. The original layout of the spaceport, built in front of the pavilion, already at the entrance enthralled visitors.
Despite state difficulties
In two separate, but connected buildings housed a rich exhibition of VDNH. Pavilion āCosmosā subsequently separated from āMechanical Engineeringā, having received serial number 32, by which it is widely known now. It is also divided into independent buildings āCosmonauticsā and āAviationā, which gives visitors an even greater opportunity to view the unique monuments of astronautics that have survived to this day. Expositions are constantly filled with new unique materials.
With the beginning of perestroika times, āCosmosā was practically not in demand. The exhibition center looked more like shopping malls where people tried to earn a living. The country was swallowed by the market and trade. Of course, excursions were popular, but with the plight of most fellow citizens, education issues faded into the background.
Nevertheless, great happiness lies in preserving the object to our times. In 2014, the return of the historical name - VDNH. The Pavilion āCosmosā (as its integral part) was recognized as an object of cultural heritage.
Role today, plans for the future
The modern development of the pavilion is associated with several exhibitions held in 2015 under the banner of cultural and educational. One of these was the exposition āMiracle Mechanicsā. Interest in it is due to the recent Olympic Games in Sochi, specially for which a number of technical facilities were created. All of them, presented at the exhibition, gained recognition of visitors.
Today, the path of space development is richly presented at VDNKh. Pavilion āCosmosā (photo attached) does not stand still, periodically opening new exhibitions. In each of them, the history of the aerospace industry is concentrated, to which our country had high hopes in the last century. In addition, visitors will be informed about future updates expected soon.
The expositions presented in a variety harmoniously connected VDNH, the Cosmos pavilion. The exhibition (the Olympics was no longer the main topic) āRussia Makes Itselfā became a new impulse in the development and even greater enthusiasm for this direction among ordinary citizens. This is indicated by statistics on the attendance of the exhibition in the framework of the recently opened Polytechnic Museum.
However, āCosmosā includes a number of other events. So, a car collection and the āGoal!ā Exposition, which tells about the history of world football, are currently available.
The pavilion plans to open an interactive space museum. It is planned to introduce the unique equipment of domestic aviation, the missile complex, the space industry, as well as models of the Mir station and the Angara carrier.
What can visitors see? First of all, get acquainted with the basics of the work of interplanetary stations, GLONASS navigation systems. Of particular interest is the designed full-size model of the station, prepared for landing on Mars. This, in turn, will be an excellent confirmation of how close humanity has come to the development of new planets.
āCosmosā invites everyone! You can get to the metro station "VDNH". Geographically, the pavilion is located at the back of the exhibition in the Industrial Square. The distance from the entrance is about 1300 meters. You can go to the āCosmosā along the Main Alley, focusing on the towering mock-up of Yuri Gagarin's rocket - so you definitely wonāt get lost!
