Books by Stephanie Meyer about the difficult relationship between the ordinary girl Bella and the vampire Edward have long captivated readers. Each work has become a bestseller, and in its entirety a series of novels has spread around the world in huge circulation. How not to get confused and make a mistake with the sequence of volumes? Those who are not familiar with the story should start with the first part, called “Twilight”. Books in order, published after, we will consider in our article.
Love and Vampires: Meet
The first part appeared on the shelves of bookstores in 2005. According to the writer, the book was intended for a teenage audience. There was no other plot: 17-year-old Bella arrives in a small town where her father lives, with whom she rarely sees after the separation of her parents. At a local school, the girl meets a mysterious Edward, from whom she mysteriously blows. A passion arises between them, but first, a young man with white skin must admit something ...
Vampire-themed drenched all Twilight. Books in order should be continued by reading the volume of the “New Moon”, in which this topic continues to develop.
The farther, the more interesting
What is the difference between the second part? As Stephanie Mayer admitted, she dedicated her to true love. Bella is overwhelmed with feelings for Edward, but, having learned his family secret, she is forced to reconsider her attitude to him. But can something break real feelings? Nevertheless, the sequel focuses on the torment of the heroine from a possible loss of love. To give more narrative romanticism, the author drew parallels with “Romeo and Juliet,” which attentive readers could see in the novel.
The final of the “New Moon” is associated with the adoption of a difficult decision. Bella agrees to turn to vampires to be closer to her beloved, in which the entire Cullen family supports her.
Third Twilight
The list of books in order is supplemented by the next part, called the “Eclipse”. At the time of its release, in 2007, an army of fans had already formed in the vampire saga. According to statistics, in the first days of sales, Eclipse sold in millions of copies.
Bella suffers from the realization that she hurt Jacob, because he also loves her. There is a lull in the war between vampires and werewolves, but as it turns out later, this is not for long. The ending is built around the wedding of the main characters who set its date. Offended Jacob decides to leave, remaining in the guise of a wolf ...
Unusual “human vampire” finale
Key events for the whole story take place in the next part, which is often called “Twilight. Saga". In order of the book, you need to continue to list, be sure to mention the fourth piece under the title “Dawn”. The dual interpretation is due to the fact that the adaptation of this part was divided into two independent films.
The narrative is united by a common theme - the birth of a child of Edward and Bella. The future daughter is incredibly strong in herself, because she combines the features of a vampire and a person. She takes too much vital energy from her mother, leaving Bella without strength. She miraculously manages to survive. Renesmee grows up very quickly. Its birth gives rise to a lot of gossip: there are those who are happy with such an event, but there are those who even more hate the Cullen family ...
Other story
Along with the final part of the vampire saga, another piece from this series under the general title Twilight went on sale. Books in order should be supplemented with “The Midnight Sun,” however officially this work does not belong to a series of novels. Its peculiarity lies in the time of the narrative - the plot develops simultaneously with the first part, but the reader sees the action through the eyes of not Edward Bella. When asked by journalists what purpose this was done, Stephanie Mayer replied that she wanted to show her searches and experiences related to a new relationship through the eyes of the main male character. Whether it was a success or not is for the fans to judge. It is worth adding that the “Midnight Sun”, which remained an offshoot piece that did not form part of the vampire saga, was sold in the same impressive circulation as its other parts.
