A potholder is an item without which the kitchen of any housewife will not do. You can make it yourself by any means of needlework, crochet tack is not disregarded. The scheme of her knitting can be either the simplest or the needlewoman requiring special skills. Crocheting is not only a pleasant pastime, but also always an interesting result. After all, a hand-made thing always adds personality and color to the interior.
Types and purpose of tack
Of course, crochet remains a manufacturing priority. Tack schemes are presented in large numbers today. The shape of the product can be different: square, round, polygonal, in the form of animals, birds and many other objects. Basically, all the schemes are carried out in a circle with a uniform addition of knitting elements, but there are other examples. The most elementary option will be a product made of elements such as a single crochet.
For tacking, it is better to use a thick or double folded thread, which will provide sufficient canvas density. Because the tack must withstand high temperatures and protect your hands from burns, this is its main function. Do not use patterns with a large number of holes in such a product. And if you still decide to crochet the potholders, the scheme and description of which involves an openwork pattern, then do them in two layers or seal them with a lining cloth. As a lining, you can use a non-woven or cotton canvas.
Crochet Tips for beginners
It is advisable to take natural material for such work: cotton, linen, wool, because synthetic fibers under the influence of temperature will begin to melt. Consider crocheted tacks with circular patterns. One of the simplest options is performed according to the following rules:
- We collect air loops, in this case four, and close with a ring.
- We perform the first lifting loop and knit a row in this order: single crochet and 2 more loops. In total, there should be four such combinations in a row. We close the row using the connecting column.
- All subsequent rows are performed in this sequence. We knit a lift, then in each loop of the lower row we make 2 single crochet, between which 2 air loops will be located. And then another 1 air loop. We repeat this combination to the end. 1 loop will be crocheted between all single crochet stitches, and 2 at the corners (for proper rounding).
- Having reached the required size, we perform the openwork edge: in the loop of the bottom row there are 2 single crochet and 4 loops.
Hexagon shape
Another option is a rectangular crochet tack, a diagram of which is presented below. To complete such a product is not difficult, the main thing is to adhere to the presented scheme. A related tack will look no less impressive than the above examples.

Watermelon slice
You will need woolen threads in four colors (red, white, green, black), of which crochet will be done. The scheme involves the following sequence of work:
- We collect five air loops and close them with a ring.
- We perform the first lifting loop, then we knit a row with single crochet columns. Be sure to finish each row with a connection of the beginning of knitting with the end of the connecting column.
- Next, we continue knitting with double crochet, doubling their number in each row. Each row ends with a join.
- Having reached the required diameter, we proceed to knitting the peel. We tear off the red thread and attach the white one. By analogy with the previous ones, we knit one row with white threads.
Tack assembly - watermelon slice
Fold the knitting in half so that the initial loop falls on the bend. We carry out a fringing, we connect two halves together, but not on all semicircle. On one side of the wedges we leave a passage for the hand. You can simply knit the edging with double crochet, or you can make it embossed. To do this, in one loop we knit three single crochet, and still through one. At the end, we make the hanging part from the air loops, which also need to be decorated with single crochet columns. Spiral Product
The spiral form is a rather unusual option. There is a special way in which we crochet tacks. There is no scheme for this option, you only need to observe the necessary sequence in the process of work:
- Take a blue thread and make a ring in the form of a sliding loop.
- We knit a lift in 3 loops, then 3 crochet posts. Increase the loop on the hook and remove it.
- We turn to another color - take a beige thread and attach to the ring.
- Repeat the same as with the blue thread: 3 air loops with 3 columns.
- We attach the remaining blue thread and repeat, as with the previous ones.
- We continue knitting in the same color, under the blue lifting loops we perform 4-crocheted columns.
- In the loop of the base of blue color, we place 2 double crochets. Pull the loop and leave.
- The same thing is repeated with blue and beige threads.
- Next we are knitting with a beige thread. Alternation is performed in the following order: in the first loop of the base we make one double crochet, in the second - two.
- We knit further in the same sequence, alternating colors, until we reach the required size, now we proceed to the closure.
- We close each thread as follows: we carry out 1 half-crochet with a crochet, 1 single crochet and 1 connecting.
Now it remains to tie the entire circle with a crab step and make a loop for hanging.
