Most UFOs in Russia were observed during the Soviet era. They were especially fond of strange phenomena that could not be rationally explained in the sixties of the last century. Information about alleged flying objects of extraterrestrial passage increasingly appeared in the Soviet press, they were interested in physicists and astronomers. On January 29, 1986, around eight o’clock in the evening, a luminous ball became visible above the hills. He flew at a speed of about 50 km / h. No military exercises were conducted in this area; there were also no launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome . UFO flight was watched by many residents of Dalnegorsk. At 19:55, they heard a dull pop and saw a luminous ball go down. An unidentified object at a height of 611 crashed into the ground. An explosion sounded and a fire started. One could see a dark spot against the background of rocks. The first to climb the top of the hill were ufologist Valery Dvuzhilny with friends. Finding the epicenter of the explosion was easy. The crash was obvious: at a height of 600-609 meters there was no snow at all, and fragments of rock and parts of an unidentified object lay on the stones around. On bare rock, rock fragments and fragments of an exploding body, the effects of very high temperatures were clearly visible.

The balls were very hard, perhaps the samples turned out to be particles of alpha iron. The composition of the material included a large number of chemical elements: nickel, silicon dioxide, manganese, chromium, cobalt, iron.

The head of the Cosmopoisk society, Vadim Chernobrov, writes that as a result of studies conducted at fourteen independent research institutions of the USSR, it turned out that the samples presented were of several main types. Fused balls of three alloys, carbon particles in a glass-like state (the element goes into such a state at a temperature of at least 3500 degrees Celsius), magnetized silicon shales (until then, it was assumed that silicon was not magnetized), black formations with numerous holes were found.
The last find (the so-called meshes) surprised scientists most of all. Particles found in Dalnegorsk at an altitude of 611 did not dissolve in strong acids, burned in air at a temperature of about 900 degrees Celsius without residue, but did not melt under vacuum even at 2800 degrees. In a cooled state, they did not conduct electric current, but in a vacuum they became conductors. The composition of the fragments included various rare metals, as well as the finest quartz filaments (17 microns). One of the threads later discovered a thin golden hair.
Experts have determined that such a technology cannot be produced at a given level of development of a human society. Doctor of Chemical Sciences V. Vysotsky confirmed that unusual finds are proof of high technology of extraterrestrial origin. However, the employees of the Leningrad branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences concluded that the composition of some balls indicates their earthly origin. Moreover, they are identical to samples from deposits in the North Baikal region.
