Material selection
Pillow "patchwork" with your own hands is quite simple to make, especially if you use the patches of the correct form. It is much more difficult to correctly select the material. Theoretically, you can take any fabric, combine textures, combine the most unthinkable colors - there are no strict restrictions. But in practice it depends on the ability to make the right color composition, how beautiful a thing you will succeed. So, on the one hand, you need to use all your creative potential, and on the other hand, try to stay within the framework of good taste. If you select the material of the desired texture and combine the colors correctly, you will get very beautiful patchwork pillows.

In order to evaluate their own strengths, first try to sew a mini version of the pillow. We take any four cuts of fabric and cut each square 6 × 6 cm (taking into account the allowance for the seams). We cut one square 11 × 11 cm from another fabric. We sew four flaps together, and then sew them with a large square, leaving one small hole for the packing. Then the needle bar is stuffed with any suitable material.

In fact, this style has become so popular that you can buy ready-made fabric in the store that mimics an assembly of several flaps. Its advantages are obvious: the patchwork pillow is sewn literally in an hour; the color composition of the material was selected by experts, so nothing needs to be invented; “Patches” differ not only in coloring, but also in texture.
And there is only one significant drawback of such a fabric: it leaves no room for own ideas. That is why most fans of patchwork technology prefer to choose the material on their own.
