Advantages of facade plaster

Plaster applied to the facade provides air circulation, protects against moisture and prevents the formation of fungus. Depending on the filler, decorative plasters can also perform a heat and sound insulation function. Facade plaster allows you to change the color and texture of the finish, if necessary. You can show imagination and choose various design options. Plaster is applied to the facade according to a certain technology and allows to obtain various surfaces.

Conditions for applying plaster

In order for the facade to be finished qualitatively, it is necessary to observe some conditions. First of all, you need to prepare the surface, or rather, dismantle the old plaster, repair all the cracks, then clean the wall from dust and thoroughly moisten. The next step is to prepare the mixture according to the instructions on the packaging. Only after this should the finished mixture be applied.

Plastering technology

The technology of plastering facades involves the fulfillment of certain conditions. Do not apply such repair actions on a newly erected wall due to the fact that the plaster may crack when the building shrinks. Remember that the concrete surface and gypsum mortar react, and the plaster swells and disappears over time. In addition, gypsum, penetrating the wall, will simply destroy it. In order to prevent this, lime mortar with a thickness of at least 4 mm must be applied to the wall. The thickness of the layer of plaster applied at one time should not exceed 2-3 cm. If you need to apply a thick layer, this should be done in several stages with an interval of 2-3 days. Grouting the finished surface can begin a few hours after applying the plaster, when the solution has not yet hardened completely. If you start early, the mortar will fall away from the wall in layers, if it is too late, the plaster will be too stiff, there will be tubercles and depressions on the wall and it will not be possible to move the mass from one place to another and thereby level the wall.

The stucco selected on the facade should not only meet the preferences of the owners, but also be environmentally friendly, safe for humans.
