Bagration Bridge in Moscow

The first shopping and pedestrian building connecting the two banks of the river in the capital is the Bagration Bridge. Moscow, and perhaps all of Russia, has no other similar analogues made of glass and concrete, which would combine several functions: crossing the river, a shopping gallery and a huge sidewalk.

Bagration Moscow

The Bagration Bridge has a span. It has quite impressive technical parameters: its length is 216, its width is 16, and its height above water is 14 meters. The supports of this structure are reinforced concrete, and the pillars are the foundation for the channel, and the coastal is set on a natural stronghold.

The author of this unique building is the eminent architect B. Thora, who designed it for the 850th anniversary of the capital in full accordance with the style of a fairly actively developing business center located on Krasnopresnenskaya embankment, which connects the bridge with Taras Shevchenko Street on the other side of the river.

The Bagration Bridge is two-level. Its lower part, where shopping arcades are located today, is made in the form of a covered gallery glazed throughout the entire length. Numerous boutiques work here, and for the convenience of movement moving sidewalks are installed.

The pedestrian bridge is glazed in its upper part, but its middle part is open, and at this point it has been turned into an observation deck. The upper and lower floors, with pedestrian paths 11 and 15 meters wide respectively, are interconnected by escalators, stairs, and elevators work.

Named after the great commander, the Bagration Bridge with its massive construction of metal trusses does not seem heavy or bulky at all. This effect of "lightness" is achieved due to its streamlined and rounded shapes, as well as the presence of glass in large quantities.

The main entrance lobby of the bridge, which is part of Moscow City, the business center of the capital, is its ground floor, which in the future will be connected via an entire system of escalators to the underground level of the complex and the interchange junction metro station.

Pedestrian bridge

Today, Bagration Bridge at its levels offers Muscovites and guests restaurants, travel agencies, cafes, a beauty salon and even a bowling center.

From the side of the Shevchenko embankment, the bridge ends with a beautiful shady alley, and with Krasnopresnenskaya - a spacious lobby, combined with the ground floor of a five-level building. There is also a cafe and restaurant, often hosts exhibitions of artists and sculptors.

The lower level of the bridge, with its travel accelerators significantly accelerating movement, is very popular among adults and children who can eat ice cream here, relax on comfortable benches or just go shopping.

The observation deck offers stunning views of the river and embankments. Here, visitors are very fond of taking pictures, young people are walking, newlyweds arrange photo shoots.

From seven in the morning this unique Bagration Bridge is open, and admission to it is free.

Next to it, from the side of Krasnopresnenskaya, a convenient pier for ships was arranged.
