The flowers are very beautiful, large capitate or spherical inflorescences can even be cut into bouquets, the leaves resemble bird feathers in shape. There are perennial and annual species, and the care and reproduction of such a flower as scabiosis depends on the plant to which it belongs. Growing from seeds does not cause any difficulties even for inexperienced gardeners. A plant usually blooms in July, but it depends on the time of planting seedlings.

If you really want to enjoy the beautiful bloom of scabiosis early, you need to sow seeds in boxes already in late February or early March. Shoots will appear in a week, a maximum of two. Seedlings are planted in open ground in May, at a distance of about 20 cm from each other, so scabiosis will feel great. Growing from seeds is also possible in the open ground, for this it is necessary to sow them in the garden in the first half of April. The plant is cold-resistant, so you should not be afraid of night frosts. Some gardeners practice planting seeds in the open ground before winter, then seedlings will appear in early spring and the flower will bloom faster.

Nutrient soil is exactly what scabiosis requires. Growing seedlings from seeds allows you to get a healthy plant that will bloom already 60-75 days after sowing. It is better to choose sunny places, because this flower is photophilous. The soil should be rich in humus, neutral and drained. Before planting seedlings, it is necessary to make humus or manure per bucket per square meter.

Scabiosis tolerates drought very persistently. Growing this flower is not at all problematic, because it practically does not need to be taken care of. Watering is necessary in moderation, and even then only in very hot weather, it is advisable to loosen the ground after watering. Perennial scabioses can be propagated not by seeds, but by dividing the bush. This procedure is performed in spring or autumn. In general, a flower tolerates transplantation at any age. Even during flowering, it will not fade, only the soil must be carefully tamped and watered.
