Life in someone else's memories. Desmond Miles - “Object No. 17”

Desmond Miles (a fictional character), a descendant of the Assassins, was born in a village populated by modern Assassins. His ancestors constantly insisted that there were many Templars around - the old enemies of the Assassins, so for a very long time they did not let the guy out of their community. But in vain, it still did not help them. But he did not save.

Out of the frying pan into the fire!

In the end, he was tired of constant monitoring and moralizing from relatives, and he fled to see people and see America. Most of all he liked the big and tall New York. Therefore, Desmond Miles (photo below) rented a house there and got a job as a bartender.

So that his relatives did not track him down, he often had to change his documents, name, surname and place of residence. But this did not protect him from another danger. From the Templars, who very quickly figured out and grabbed the guy. They settled him at their headquarters in Rome. And, without explaining on what basis, they called it “Object No. 17”, and then they forced him to look for the thing they needed, which his predecessors had at one time owned.

Welcome to Abstergo

The bright room Desmond Miles found himself in is one of the research rooms of the Abstergo company. She is under the control of the modern Templars, but only one managed to get acquainted - Dr. Warren Widick. He developed a special device - "Animus", immersing people in the memory of their ancestors. Desmond did not have the opportunity to refuse, and he obeyed.

Desmond Miles Assassin
The first guy to be remembered was Assassin Altair, who lived during the time of the Crusades. Thus, Vidik was able to gain a lot of knowledge, and most importantly, the location of the desired item. Now they did not need Desmond; they decided to get rid of him. But the doctor’s assistant, Lucy Stillman, convinced the Templars not to do this, because it is not known whether the information received is reliable.

When Lucy and Dr. Vidik leave the room, the guy's "eagle's vision" is activated. And that means Desmond Miles is an assassin. Wandering in the labyrinths of Altair's memory, for some hours he was able to adopt his ability. With this skill, he began to distinguish between the messages of blood, apparently left to those who were here before him.

The escape

While Desmond is trying to figure out the encrypted messages, Lucy appears and asks him to lie down in the Animus. There he plunges into the memories of his other ancestor - Ezio Auditore. But he doesn’t have time to inspect them, he is thrown out of the car, he and Lucy miraculously run away from the “Abstergo”.

The girl leads him to one of the secret shelters, where he meets two other descendants of the assassins - Sean Hastings and Rebecca Crane. They are going to help him learn what the assassins can do. To do this, he again has to plunge into the memories of Ezio Auditore. So they do it until the Abstergo finds them and forces them to leave the shelter.

Under the Coliseum

As time passes, a team of assassins, along with Desmond, appear in Monteriggioni. Somewhere here, Ezio Auditore last saw the "Apple of Eden," an ancient magical artifact. To be more precise, this place is located under the Coliseum.

Desmond Miles fictional character
Desmond Miles finds him, but as soon as he picks up the bullseye in his hands, it begins to control him and forces him to kill Lucy with a hidden blade. He hears a voice that explains to him that Lucy Stillman is a Templar and cannot go on with him further. After that, the guy loses consciousness (falls into a coma), but two unknown people pick him up and put him in the Animus. One of them, as it turned out later, was his father, William Miles.

Black room

Staying in a coma, Desmond finds himself in the "Black Room" - a safe mode of "Animus". There he meets “Object No. 16,” which he had long forgotten about the real world. His mind forever blocked the device, and his body decayed many years ago. In order not to repeat his fate, Desmond will have to get closer to his predecessors and see the end of the stories of Altair and Ezio.

He observes how, in 1511, Ezio Auditore searched for keys to get into Masyaf’s library in Constantinople. Only their finding leads to serious consequences. The Black Room begins to crumble when Animus takes Miles for a virus program. The device was about to remove it, but “Object No. 16” intervened, sacrificing itself.

This allowed Desmond to see the memory of Ezio, in which Altair, using another “Apple of Eden,” tells him about a certain message of the gods found in 1499. After this, the guy meets Jupiter, who asks him to go to another temple for further instructions. At that moment, Desmond Miles leaves the coma and sees Rebecca, Sean and his father William. Now he knows how to proceed.

Juno and Minerva

The end point is the temple of the first civilization. There, in Animus, he was awaited by the memories of the next ancestor, Connor Kenway. Sean Hastings has already found the sources needed to open the passage. Through him, Desmond first goes to New York, and then to one of the stadiums of Brazil. There the assassin finds two elements.

Meanwhile, Sean manages to find the third element, but Desmond's father decides to go after him on his own. Naturally, he falls into the hands of the Templars, who send him to the "Abstergo". They promise to return their father, of course, for the "Apple of Eden." And Desmond agrees.

He enters the laboratory, where he was previously held. There, he encounters Aaron Cross, the mercenary of the Abstergo, but he cannot kill Desmond, because numerous experiments have damaged his mind. So Cross runs away, but Miles catches up with him and kills him with a hidden blade. That's all, to save his father, he can only deal with Dr. Vidik.

Taking the third element from him, Desmond Miles opens the gate. There they are met by Juno, who says that for the sake of saving the world he must do the smallest thing - to give his life. At the same moment Minerva appears, who warns that in this case he will free Juno and she will begin to take over the world.

Desmond Miles Assassin
None of the options can be called a compromise. After all, in one case you have to die, and in the other - live on the ruins of civilization. But he takes the side of Juno, asks everyone to leave and activates the pedestal. He takes his life, and then the guy hears the last words in his life that Juno says: "You got yours, and now it's your turn to take me." Thus, Desmond Miles, not having time to really live his life, gave it to save many other people's lives. Or maybe for the sake of their death?
