Transcarpathian region, and it is located at a distance of about 10 km from the railway. Volovets station is 6 km from the village. A good guide for travelers is the ski lift, located 300 meters from the waterfall.

Legend of the waterfall
Shipot Waterfall has its own legend. She speaks of a beautiful girl named Mariyka, who long ago lived in the village of Pylypets. A young man Ivan was in love with her.
His beloved was the daughter of wealthy parents, and Ivan himself was from an ordinary poor family. Marijka’s parents were against him, forbade even to see him. Lovers met secretly on Mount Vysoky Verkh, under the Borzhavskaya valley.
Once, mother nevertheless found out about the place of their meeting and, in a fit of anger, cursing the young couple, ran to the place of their meeting. At this time, from her strong fury, a shower with lightning and thunder began. Stormy and strong streams of water began to descend from the meadows. They carried Mariyka and Ivan, holding hands, into the abyss. And on their way to inevitable death, a waterfall arose, separating the beloved with its powerful force. Thus, the young lovers disappeared into the foam of noisy mountain streams.
Since then, the mother of Marijka, coming to this place, has been grieving, very sorry for the ruined life of her daughter. One such night on Ivan Kupala, she heard the voice of her beloved daughter. As if she were whispering words of love to her Ivan. Hence the name Falls.
Festival, holidays, excursions
Since 1993, every year Shipot Falls and the amazing nature surrounding it attracts a lot of informal people from various countries to these places. A festival of hippies and other informal associations (punks, metallers, skinheads) with the name “Shipot” is traditionally held here.
The venue is located on a spacious green lawn. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and a magical forest. According to tradition, the culmination of the holiday is the day of Ivan Kupala (July 7).
That very night in the meadow burned vatra (bonfire). Rumors have it that it turns out to be the largest in Ukraine. Here extraordinary people like-minded people communicate, stroll through amazingly beautiful surroundings, in the mountains.
