Today in the world there is a huge variety of socio-political ideologies. In the last century, the problem was urgent, caused by the appearance on the world stage of such a movement as racism. This direction has caused the most controversial reviews. However, what is racism?
The word itself was first recorded in the French dictionary of Laruss in nineteen thirty-two. There, the answer to the question “what is racism” sounded as follows: it is a system that claims the superiority of one race over others. Is it legal?
According to the large legal dictionary, edited by Sukharev and Krutsky, racism is one of the main international offenses. It is an ideology and a set of discrimination that is based on racial fallacies and prejudices.
What is racism and what are its manifestations? The structural organization and institutionalized practice of this direction leads to the problem of inequality, as well as to the idea that such relations between different groups of people are justified both from the moral, ethical, political and even scientific points of view. This ideology is based on a movement towards manifestation at the level of legislation and in practice.
What is racism? This is a theory according to which any racial or ethnic group has an unreasonable right to dominate other people (however, it has some pseudo-substantiations from the point of view of ideology itself). In practice, this is expressed in the oppression of a group of people on any grounds (skin color, generic, national or ethnic origin). The International Convention on the Elimination of Forms of Discrimination in one thousand nine hundred and sixty-sixth year declared that racism was a crime. Any of its manifestations is punishable by law.
According to this convention, racism can be considered any restriction, preference or exclusion based on skin color, signs of race or origin, which has the goal of destroying or diminishing the rights to recognition, as well as restricting a person’s opportunities and freedoms in his political, economic, cultural or social life.
The term in question appeared in the nineteenth century, when the Frenchman Gobingo put forward the concept of the superiority of the Aryan race over the rest. Moreover, under this idea, including pseudoscientific evidence of its truthfulness. The problem of such a movement as racism in the USA (United States of America) was especially acute. A large number of African-Americans, indigenous people, emigrants gave rise to large-scale actions based on discrimination of various kinds. And now, racism in America is associated with the activities of the notorious Ku Klux Klan group.
In the middle of the last century, it was precisely the mood of superiority of some people over others, developed with the inclusion of Darwinism, eugenics, Malthusianism, the philosophy of cynicism and misanthropy, elitism by philosophers such as Highcraft, Kidd, Lapuj, Voltam, Chamberlain, Ammon, Nietzsche, Schoppenhauer, became the basis for ideology of fascism. They formed the foundation of this teaching, which justifies and encourages segregation, racial discrimination, apartheid, and the idea that the “pure Aryan race” is superior to all others.
