The street got its own character, painful and military, back then, and in the future it remained. Now there is a pre-trial detention center No. 1, a tuberculosis dispensary, a psychiatric hospital and a car repair plant. Residential buildings are a construction camp built in the constructivist style in the 1920s. In the building of the car repair plant during the revolutionary 1917 was the headquarters of the rebels Sokolniki district.

Almost all street buildings are built of red or maroon bricks, their monotony is disturbed by the greenery and flowering of numerous lindens. The street is very old Moscow, retaining its slow and cruel charm amid the insane metropolitan noise.

Insulator History

During the time of the great Catherine, the history of the famous place of imprisonment began. In 1775, a straitjacket was opened for the "prejudice".

He is also known as the author of one of the monuments on the Borodino field. In 1918, a juvenile correctional facility appeared here. And only after the death of Stalin, in 1956, the famous pre-trial detention center "Sailor Silence" appeared here. This is the first pre-trial detention center of the Moscow police department. On the territory of the Sailor Silence isolator there is one more, higher level, which is subordinated not to the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow, but to the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, where members of the State Emergency Committee, Khodorkovsky, Rutskoi, and Mavrodi were detained at different times.

It was committed in 1995 by a killer of a Kurgan criminal group, the performer of dozens of successful murders, including murders of criminal authorities, Alexander Solonik. This escape remains a mystery, but it can be explained if you believe that the famous killer served in the top-secret organization White Arrow, the secret intelligence service of the Russian government, which is engaged in the elimination of the kings of the underworld.

In the 2000s, there were two more escape attempts, but the detainees were detained for a day. Also, everyone knows the more or less successful attempts of the following fugitives: Oleg Topalov, Alexander Ershov, Vasily Slavgorodsky, Alexei Dulger.

The Sailor's Silence and all its inhabitants are guarded by the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, once (in 1907) built for soldiers and officers who lived in nearby sapper barracks. Now the restoration of the holy place is engaged in the headquarters of the Airborne Forces, also located nearby.
