Central air conditioning: principle of operation and features

In the premises of production or in large industrial and domestic areas, it is necessary to create a certain microclimate with maintaining a given humidity and temperature. For these purposes, a conventional air conditioner is not suitable due to its low performance. In such cases, they use a special air conditioner, called central.

General information about the central air conditioner

Devices related to the claimed air conditioners are capable of serving large volumes of premises. They are also called air handling units that can set a given microclimate. To provide such a function, they are connected to the wiring of stationary ventilation ducts. Central air conditioning available:

  • humidify the air;
  • to heat the room;
  • perform cleaning;
  • lower the humidity level by draining the air;
  • saturate the air with certain specified components.

Considering the design of the device, we can say that this is a complex device assembled from different modules.

air conditioning modules

Each such module has its own equipment, which is responsible for a specific function:

  • air mixing;
  • heat transfer processes;
  • different types of treatments;
  • air flow regulation.

The presence of certain modules is not a specific standard, but depends on the needs for solving specific problems. Each module can be divided into sections. In modern equipment, it can be sections: heating, cooling, cleaning, saturation with moisture, noise absorption, fan compartment and heat recovery.

The principle of operation of the device

Thanks to heat recovery and recycling systems operating in a central air conditioner, energy consumption associated with space heating during cold weather is significantly reduced.

When using extract air as a heat carrier, the supply air is heated. In the same way, they achieve the reverse process during cooling - this is called heat recovery. But with this approach, there is no partial mixing, as with recirculation.

The central air conditioning system is controlled by a microprocessor automation circuit when the operator acts on a special console. The latter can be installed in any convenient place. The functions that are available for customization are:

  • setting the temperature mode;
  • selection of the clean ventilation option when the temperature parameters of the outdoor air remain unchanged;
  • air flow rate regulation;
  • timer options with the ability to program schedule modes;
  • displaying information about the state of temperature in the street, indoors, operating modes;
  • the possibility of complete autonomy in working with automatic adjustment of the system operation parameters depending on changes in environmental conditions.

During operation, the unit simultaneously supplies and exhausts air to each serviced room through ventilation ducts. A zone valve is responsible for adjusting the flow in each room. The supply air does not immediately enter the room, but it first passes through filtration, then the heat exchanger, where it is heated or cooled. Also, the air flow can undergo a drying or humidification operation.

Features of air conditioners

A feature of the central air conditioner is that it belongs to non-autonomous systems. This puts him in a dependent position on related devices, such as heat sources, a refrigeration unit in the form of a condensing unit.

This type of equipment is intended for servicing huge premises, such as hangars, indoor sports grounds, theater halls, workshops of factories and various enterprises. Depending on the required power, not one, but several air conditioners can be installed.

The central air conditioner is a flexible system due to the presence of separate modules in it, which can be easily combined.

Central frame air conditioning

Frame-type air conditioners of domestic production can be used in areas with tropical and temperate climates. There are air handling units and air supply units. Structurally, they can be made with the air flow in the left and right directions.

Models KTsKP, KTsKZ, KTsK, KTsKM conditioners require their installation in a horizontal position, KTsKV - designed for vertical installation. Models KTsKV, KTsKZ, KTsK, KTsKM of conditioners fasten to a frame of support purpose, the central KTsKP conditioner needs to be suspended, making fixing for overlapping of buildings.

Devices are equipped with sound insulation, as well as insulation, which prevents the penetration of heat from functional units. This allows you to install systems directly in the production halls. The standard set of air conditioner KCC includes the following block elements:

  • reception rooms;
  • for mixing;
  • sewage treatment plants;
  • cooling;
  • for transporting air.

The central frame-panel air conditioner KTsKP is made on the basis of a rigid aluminum frame and sandwich-type panels with a thickness of 25 mm. Any air conditioning unit is convenient to maintain due to easy access to its functional part.

Air conditioner instruction manual

After installing the central air conditioner, the instruction for its first start-up involves the following steps:

  1. Close the input gate to avoid overloads and failure of the fan motor.
  2. Start the fan and adjust the air flow by slowly opening the air valve. There should be no extraneous noise and sounds, as well as excessive vibration of the system. If this is observed, the cause must be discovered and eliminated.
  3. At normal fan operation, connect the remaining units one by one.
  4. Within an hour, diagnose the device for the appearance of extraneous sounds, smell, vibration.
  5. Turn off the air conditioner and visually inspect all function blocks.
  6. Check the filters for integrity, the quality of condensate removal, the performance of the water seal. Fan belts should not be loosened, bearings should not be overheated.
  7. Inspect the entire piping system and repair any leaks.
  8. Check the tightness of the system units and the entire unit.

Benefits

Air conditioning central frame-panel modification KCCP has the following advantages:

  • made on an individual project;
  • it is completed with domestic elements of automation;
  • the product has a monoblock and block design;
  • products comply with ISO 9001 quality standards;
  • has a high degree of reliability and warranty service.

disadvantages

A significant drawback of all central air conditioning systems is their high cost, as well as the need for a separate room for the installation of an air conditioner and all related systems. The complexity of the ideal adjustment of comfort in each particular room served is also a tangible minus.

Conclusion

Installation of such sophisticated equipment as central air conditioning requires the involvement of specialized firms, which, as a rule, are engaged in the manufacture of these systems. Specialists of the companies themselves can design the necessary design of the unit, based on the needs of the customer.
