Izospan "B": instructions for use and some nuances

Building a house is another half of the story, since the construction of a β€œbox” often causes much less trouble than its insulation and installation of a vapor barrier. And it’s strongly not recommended to do without the latter, since otherwise the service life of the insulation will be much shorter, and heating costs will increase. Isospan β€œB” is ideally suited for this purpose, the instructions for use of which are quite simple.

isospan in the instructions for use
This material is one of the most effective solutions when it is required to erect a high-quality barrier between the external environment and a layer of heat-insulating material. It can be used in rooms of any type. In its structure, β€œisospan” is dual: one side is smooth, while from the inside it is rough.

Note that with a smooth surface it should be turned to the external environment, while it is laid on a heater with a rough layer. The fact is that irregularities make it possible to effectively retain condensate, which can subsequently be diverted into the drainage system. Thus, isospan "B" (the instructions for use of which are in the article) is a relatively cheap but effective means of protection against moisture.

How can it be used

Roof insulation

installation of isospan
Very often this material is used to warm the roof and attic rooms. It is good in that it can be used with a wide variety of types of roofing materials. The installation of isospan itself is carried out by attaching it to the rafter system or between the walls (in the case of an attic). It is very important to overlap it, and the joints must be glued with a special insulating tape.

Walls with external insulation

Izospan is quite popular in low-rise construction of country houses. You can use it to warm the outer and inner surfaces of the walls. It is mounted on a crate. Once again, we recall that the rough surface should be turned inward. Otherwise, isospan "B", the technical characteristics of which are very good, will not fully cope with its tasks.

Getting Started

isospan in specifications
In the case when, at the stage of construction of the house, it is planned to insulate its walls, when erecting insulated roofs, a vapor barrier must be laid on the inside. Fastening is carried out using galvanized nails or with a simple construction stapler. Note that the isospan "B", the instructions for use of which are described here, must be superimposed from the bottom up. Of course, that the canvas should go with an overlap, and the width of the strip to be thrown should be at least 15 cm.

If you plan to mount a vapor barrier inside a room trimmed with lining or similar material, the isospan should be mounted on a rack frame, the latter being impregnated with antiseptic solutions. In the case when the finish is carried out with drywall, the material is mounted on metal guides. It is important that a gap of at least 5 cm remains between the wall and the vapor barrier, as otherwise condensation will not be removed. In any case, isospan "B" (the instructions for use of which was described by us) should be fastened together with a special tape.
